If he's willing to take some kind of hometown discount like 13-15 mil a year for a few years then I hope he stays( Which is unlikely). He is not a max player though with the lackluster effort he shows sometimes.

The thing is if he leaves/we trade him who will we "go to" for offense down low? Unless Earl Clark drastically develops we'll need a low post player/go to player so we should at least trade him for Dirk somehow if we go that route.

Do we have the cap room for him if Amare leaves? Because I don't think Amare would agree to a sign and trade to Toronto.

He's not taking no hometown discount. Why take home town discount when the Suns are 50/50 on him and he could get the real money out in the open market. Amare is a goner and I guess Mr. Sun was wrong about Amare definitely coming back.

I'd still love for him to stay if he does come back for something cheaper, but if he does, he seriously needs some more help around him.

I really want to see how well he performs without Nash.

My hope is that Hill retires (frees up that cap space). I would love to see Boozer here. Similar to Amare with smart defense and rebounding.

Come on down to South Beach Amare. =) You won't have to worry about double/triple teams with a real scorer in Wade on your team.

I think that will happen. Amare can get his 6 year max there.

Lee would be an awesome fit for the Suns, although I hope he stays in NY.

Trade JRich for Iggy. As much of a stinker Amare is in post defense, adding a tough defensive guy like Iggy could do wonders. You strengthen your perimeter defense and your post defense gets better.

For the most part, Amare is actually not totally terrible on one-on-one post defense. He might not even be average but I've seen worse. It's really when he gets stuck in a two-man game forcing him to switch, that's when he gets killed. He just doesn't have the focus and doesn't read plays very well, meaning he is late on the switch. Keep the defense in the perimeter up and that would cut the number of guys breaking through our perimeter and making Amare switch out.
