Big 3 got worse and Rondo got better, there front line sucks Kg can't even run down the court, Perkins isn't a threat on offense but is a great post defender and sheed just camps at the 3 pt line, Artest will lock down Paula he struggled against Lebron so imagine what Ron will do, it's time for REVENGE LETS GO LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No way back ! It is a must win series for the Lakers !

Throughout the series : stay calm, humble, execute, be tough, take one game at a time, activate the defense, keep the mind fluid and play with heart every second !

Kobe should play like it's his last chance to win a title. The same for Pau, Lamar and the entire team.
Ron is hungry and smelling already that the title is nearby. He better get his prey and eat it gradually until the series end in our favor.

I think Lakers can a good chance to win this.

They won in 2008 because of a variety of things.

Lakers had no one to match up with Pierce - Solved, Artest
Celts front court was bigger - Solved w/ Bynum
Celts bench was better - Solved, they are less deeper and Odom is now on Lakers bench
ZOne defense - Solved, Lakers figure out the zone against the Suns.
Rondo going off on Fisher - Solved, Kobe will be guarding him.

From what I see, Celts shouldn't be a confident as they think because what won them in 2008, will not be the same reasons.

I remember at the start of this season my older brother saying to me, "Ty, if the Lakers don't repeat this year will you be pissed?" and I responded and told him that no I wouldn't, it's hard to win a 'Chip and we got one so I'm good.

That mentality has completely changed. I get pumped for a game unlike any other than against the Celtics. I wasn't around for the rivalries back in the 60's, 70's and 80's.. but my hate for this team is deep.

Let's finish this season off the right away. I still remember sitting at my ex-girlfriend's place in 2008 during Game 6 watching us get pounded by this team. I still remember the highlights on The Score and I remember Garnett screaming and falling onto his knees. Let's return the favor, let's get it.

And oh yeah, Boston, Vladimir Radmanovic and Ronny Turiaf replaced with Ron Artest and Andrew Bynum makes a big difference.

Lakers in 7.

What's interesting about Boston is that their defensive style has changed a bit. I don't think they're as quick as they used to be. I'd like to see a relentless post-up of Allen throughout the game either by Bryant or Artest.

Not having the 6-8, 230 lb dirty defender that was James Posey will hurt Boston. Tony Allen is physical but if Kobe can get airspace that's all he needs. He's not LeBron who has to beat you past the dribble to score.

rep that Lakers jersey when you go.

We all know what Kobe is capable of but will someone step up in the Finals other than Kobe and do it on a consistent basis. In games 1 and 2 against the Suns, Pau Gasol was a huge factor to our success but he suddenly faded back for the rest of the series. During that time Kobe stepped to the challenge and willed the Lakers past the Suns. We were fortunate that Ron came through big in games 5 and 6. Who will it be this time in the Finals?

Many more questions linger around not that the Lakers made it to the Finals. Will Pau Gasol redeem himself and show that he has truly shed his soft label or will he crumble against the physical play of the Celtics? Has Ron Artest gained his confidence back after the game winning shot? Will Andrew Bynum stay motivated and come up big against the Celtics or will he be non existent due to injuries? Those are not the only question that surround the Lakers as of now but they will all be answered starting next Thursday.

Hi Celtics fan here.
that game winner was huge for Artest, before that I thought he was playing not to dissapoint Kobe and gain his acceptance. I think mentally he feels less pressure now. Looks like a great match up with PP. I think you guys will put Kobe on Rondo, Artest on PP and fisher on Allen.

The battle of the bigs will be interesting. KG is no longer the force he was two years ago. Gasol is the most skilled big in this series, expect him to get the Howard treatment. (hard fouls).

Your ex factor is odoms consistancy and Bynum.
Ours will be our bench with baby and sheed. Tony trick or treat allen can be great or a dissater. We will miss daniels to help spell off on Kobe. He is still having concussion syndrome.

a clash of style really.
The keys for you guys is to push the tempo and try to score before we set up our half court D.
If you contiue to push the ball ealry and often it will affect our older legs in the forth quarter.
Also if you keep the game close you have a great closer. Boston has been out scored in all of the forth quarters. Our offense grinds to a hault.

heres hoping for a good finals with no more injuries.
on our injured list is Perk-bad knees, tony allen ankle, rondo undislcosed injury, daniels concussion, rasheed bad back.
On the lakers, I think Bynums knee. Kobe has had nagging injuries throughout. not sure about anyone else on your team.

cheers,

You my friend are the first to come here and state this. We as a fan base knew this because we already knew Ron was trying to placate to Kobe. It's the exact reason he was literally looking for Kobe once he hit that game winner.

iamworthy wrote:Celtics arent as good as 2008. The Rondo crap is over hyped. Yes he has emerged as a elite player. Facts doesnt change. Kobe picks him up at the freethrow line. Last time I checked Rondo still can shoot consistently. Will he make some plays, of course, but I dont expect him to take over a series. Vlade will not be guarding Pierce this year, it will be Ron Ron. Bottom line is KG isnt the same player. Powe is gone, House is gone, PJ brown is gone, Posey is gone...this is a different team. IN 08, I dont even think the lakers believed they could beat the celtics. They loss both games that year and was physically intimidated. Times have changed. Lakers have one of the most powerful motivators, and thats revenge. They took care of the suns and now its time to take care of the Celtics. We match up tremendously well with them.. Its time to take care of business. Bynum will get his chance to have an impact...no matter how small or big it may be, he has a chance. Cats forget that Bynum and Ariza was out for that series. I know ariza came back late..but lets be real..
