I'm stunned and sick at the same time. I can't believe what I saw in this game.
I really have to question Romo's and the Cowboys' playcalling. You got single coverage on TO all game and all they relied on was checkdowns to Barber. Last i checked Witten and TO were keys to the offense and they choose to go to a covered Crayton for key plays.
What a waste of a season.

romo made some very dumb plays you can put some blame on him taking sacks the grounding and throwing that hail mary on our 2nd to last possession
i really didnt like much of the gameplan (for the 2nd straight year in the playoffs) we're facing a banged up secondary and we dont try to exploit it til we're forced into passing situations
barber did great but im sure witten couldve had a big day same goes for TO but we just didnt emphasize the passing game early

There were plenty of plays that cost us todays game. Being up 14-7 with 53 seconds left during the first half, all we had to do was prevent them from scoring.
Instead, Eli completes a few passes and the IDIOT Jacques Reeves does a 15 yard facemark and our inability to cover allows them to score a TD to tie 14-14. IMO that drive GAVE NY all THE MOMENTUM.
In the 3rd, instead of driving for a TD, Romo and TO couldn't connect so we settle for a FG. Note if we score a TD on that drive we would have had 21 points.
Giants D were depleted yet we couldn't take advantage. Blame the O Line, Blame Romo for not throwing away some passes and taking a sack instead. Crayton dropping his passes were HUGE.
That wide open pass to Crayton that he dropped probably would have gotten us a 24-14 lead, instead we had to punt and NY eventually got the offense rolling for a go ahead score of 21-17.
Our offense was pretty pathetic the rest of the game. Give NY defense their credit.
Bottom line was that we did not step up to the challenge, I had been concern over this stupid team ever since 4 weeks ago. We were playing bad football at the wrong freaking time.

I haven't moved out of this spot since the game finished. What a let down after looking forward to this for weeks.
I have the urge to blame this one on the refs, Romo, Crayton or whoever but at this point that is all just petty. I just Romo screws his head on right next season and keeps focus. He doesn't need all these distractions.
If that's not bad enough I have my friend from Jersey calling me up to rub it in now. Came so close to hanging up on her mid-call.

Crayton compares Ware to LT, tell the Giants to STFU! & costs the Cowboys the game.
Maybe, next season, he should stop doing interviews. In the words of Burress "The guy gets a contract & thinks he can talk."
Sit down, Patrick.

Face it Crayton and the drive with 38 seconds to go by the Giants at the half cost the Cowboys the game. Crayton catches the ball he is at least at the 45 after the catch and if they defense is allowed to attack Eli instead of trying to cover than things would have been different. However would of, should of, could of. The things the Cowboys need are a new defensive cor., a backup runner to Marion (who was a beast today) nd a #2 receiver to make Crayton the third rec. he is.
So in the Superbowl we will have the Pill Popping Packers vs. ES Patriots of New England

Agree times 1000. There is no way I will ever pull for a divisional rival EVER and especially against the Giants. I flat out dislike Eli Manning and I really don't think he deserves this. The guy is not that good, just because he played turnover free the past 3 games does not mean he is all of a sudden mentioned in the same sentence as his brother and dad.
THe refs gave that to the Giants, free 7 points in the 3rd quarter by calling 4 peanalties on The Pack. The first 2 flags thrown were iffy, Harris INT should have been a no call, BUrress and Harris were both being physical, can call it either way, LET it GO. And they called roughness on Collins when that should be a no call. Instead of 4th and 5 they gave Giants 15 yards to the 25 yard line. BS.
What is crazy is that Week 17 the Patriots road to perfection had to go through the Giants. Who would have thought that Week 17 rematch will happen in the superbowl? ONCE again, the Patriots MUST get through the Giants to get to perfection once again. Will Eli and Co. spoil it this time? This will be a tragedy if it happens.

Yeah, the Giants have been the beneficiaries of some very questionable penalties from what I've seen. The Demarcus Ware offside call on the first drive of the game was a killer for us. But I'll give the G-men credit, they sure took advantage of the mistakes.
Anyway, after watching a few games since our debacle, here are a few thoughts of mine...
(1) Newman and Henry are still pretty good. Burress destroyed a guy in Al Harris who's supposed to be an elite cover corner in the NFL, and Toomer was open most of the time against another "elite" corner. Kinda goes to show how horrible everybody else (aside from Ken Hamlin) is in our secondary.
(2) Other teams seem to get more pressure on the quarterback and protect their own QB better than we do. All the QBs in the Championship games seemed to have good protection most of the time, and when they were pressured, it usually came from a well-designed blitz package.
(3) We're getting outcoached. Each team I've seen is better prepared and has a better gameplan (particularly defensively) than we did. I think we certainly need a better defensive coordinator/gameplan, or atleast play our corners in press coverage more. Playing soft exposes our big, slow linebackers. (I still vote for a 5-2 base set, but that's just me.)

It doesn't help that the media and the rest of America is watching every move that we do. Romo date Jessica and the whole world is gossiping, Romo goes to Mexico and the media makes fun of it everyday. Then again, I didn't really agree with that trip, he should have just stayed in Texas to chill out.
Our secondary is terrible, Hamlin was only signed for this year. He will probably be gone which means we need another Free Safety. Newman and Henry must stay injury free next season, it really won't hurt to get another quality CB because Jacques Reeves sucks.
Who shoul we target with the 20th pick and our own pick? O lineman, WR or a defensive back?
