Ohlendorf vs. Wells

It's raining a bit but the game is still underway.

Lou pulls Wells after 90 pitches with a shutout and Russell gives up a home run to the first batter he faces. Story of the Cubs season.

To be fair, Wells had just started a couple of days ago. I know he didn't get an out, but I guess he didn't want Wells to go that deep today.

Runner on 2nd with 0 outs for the 3, 4, and 5 hitters and they can't get him in. Lou needs to drop Aramis and Lee in the order. It's obvious that's why we are struggling to drive runners in.

And I think Aramis is about done.

Would you look at that? A bunch of scrubs making nothing can drive a run in while our weak-minded overpaid bums can't. Another loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

This team would be alright if we never had to play the Pirates.

Don't fear, when Lou retires after this year, Ryne Sandberg will be our manager and Jim Hendry will still somehow have a job because he's a nice guy. It's going to be fun being the Pirates of the 2010's.

If 6 of those Pitt loses were only 1 or 2 we'd be in contention.

Return to Chicago Cubs
