I'm surprised Gallo wasn't a mention. Didn't one of the experts post during the season something about how good a LBJ Gallo combo would be?
1. Bosh
2. Johnson
3. Dirk
4. Wade
5. Griffin
6. Boozer
7. Stoudemire
8. Lee
9. Rose
10. Lopez
I don't know if I agree with that list. Griffin? How can he make the list, let alone top 5. He has not played a game yet. Why not put Wall in there then? I mean, I know the list potential combos based on who could sign James and what they have, or who can sign James and who else, but still.

So according to their logic, a team consisting of Lebron James and Joe "Playoff Choker" Johnson would win more games than a power duo of Bron and Wade?

They must mean Eddie Griffin who has played in more basketball games than Blake.

I feel Johnson and Wade need to switch and the same for Boozer/STAT. I'm actually agree with the Blake selection. He was on his way to being a beast and if can regain his athleticism well be the pre-injury Mcydess the Clippers need.
Happy we gonna get Lebron and Bosh tho.
wonder if Curry could land us anything on this list or am I being to greedy?

Griffin? Really?
Why not Wall or an hs senior who's played exactly as much professional ball as Griffin while we are at it?

I think Lebron has known what he wanted to do for three years now. The Chicago smokescreen is the best thing that could have happened to Lebron and the Knicks. The media has switched from saying he should never leave his roots, to "Lebron has to leave and Chicago would be great". Now when Lebron signs with New York, that "leaving home" argument won't hold much weight. The smokescreen has also worked tremendously in the kNicks favor. The GM's around the league aren't sure who to blacklist. If it was a sure thing that we would sign Lebron, how many teams would be willing to deal us draft picks? Or work out a trade with us??? (A resounding Zero) Chicago has diverted so much attention from New York that Donnie Walsh is free to make a splash in this years draft and Offseason.
It's a great point. I think that's one of the big reasons Donnie dumped Jeffries. He knew how hard it would be to do that now. It was a very smart strategic move as it turns out.
I think Donnie has played his hand the best he could and we're ahead of the other teams strategically. The only thing working against us is the bad decade but that's not something he could really control. Other than not having proven a winning system, which is big don't get me wrong, we have the best chance to woo LeBron away with our city, second star (that matches with him), cap flexibility with Curry, and our coach too most likely.

Well you know Broussard didn't write this or Rose would be no.1 and no Knick would be mentioned.

Wall brings the same problem as Rose. He needs the ball and without it isn't much of an all-around player. Griffin as a forward has to wait for Lebron to decide what he wants to do and even if not used that possesion could be great for O.rebounds and putbacks.

I doubt anything major will be said. A show like Larry King Live wouldn't just sit on groundbreaking info only to play it on a Friday. There's no buzz that needs to be created regarding a situation like this.
They'll probably just talk about mutual chicks they've smashed.
Just a must-watch army of possessed ass-kickers laying the smack down night after night after night. People are gonna hate playing the Bulls this year.

I feel the same, but at the same time lebrons all about image.. this could be an interview to prepare the public for whatever move he makes even if he doesn't directly say where he's going.. we might be able to get an idea.. i dnt think he'll just leave cleveland and f up their whole economy without wanting some damage control on his image or preparation by speaking about why he made his decision to leave.. especially because there are so many people wanting him to stay in Cleveland because "thats where he was drafted" and "he should finish his career out in Cleveland" "cleveland needs him" yadda yadda.. its not a popular decision for him to leave, so i wouldnt be surprised if this interview was for something like that.. as opposed to him just up and leaving without any warning, explanation, or preparation.. Just a thought..
"We’ll find a way to either make him a very useful player in our organization, or whatever"

While I don't agree with the list completely, especially the order. I think Johnson made it over Wade because he isn't a ball-dominant player. He is also a good mid-range and long distance shooter that plays well off of other players. While Wade is a lot better than Johnson, both players (James & Wade) will want the ball in their hands, and how well each player will be able to feed off of the other's game is unknown. Basketball ball analysts stated the Marbury/Francis backcourt pairing wouldn't work because of this reason, but that's not the reason it didn't work. Francis was completely washed up, and Marbury has never proved he could make a team good by himself. Fraizer and Monroe were able to play together successfully.
Some people think Toney Douglas is a better PG to play with James than Derrick Rose, not because Douglas is better, but because his attributes seems to mesh well with James' game on paper. Who knows what will happen in reality, assuming LeBron comes to NY. Douglas will have to improve his consistency (production-wise, from game-to-game), as do most young, inexperienced players.

I'm on the wtf train @ Blake Griffin. If it's someone like Rose or Brook Lopez in the top 5 I can chalk it off to fan boyism but I can't even imagine a Clipper fan putting Griffin on that type of list.

cgf wrote:If you watched gallo once we let him out of the corner you'd know he's already shown he can be force in this league. Now when you add to that that as a teenager he took Italy's equivalent of the Isiah Knicks and made them an elite squad you start to understand the intangibles that Gallo also brings which show that he's always stepped up in the clutch. I understand being skeptical, of course his career could get derailed tomorrow and he hasn't proven it in the NBA enough, but he's shown that he's clutch and that he's very talented with a great understanding of how to use his skill. I'll give you that Noah made a bigger impact this past season, Gallo was negated to bailout 3 point shooter, but I genuinely doubt that that is the case this coming season. LeBron or no Gallo will get a bigger role on this team next and not be stuck with (Please Use More Appropriate Word) team-mates that got sand in their vag because he's going to be here long term and they weren't. I expect gallo to get 17 pts, 6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals and a block a game very efficiently. Depending on how FA goes I can only see those numbers going up.
Please stop. I would say less than 10% of his 488 three-point attempts were "bailout 3" pointers. Also, Gallinari put himself in the corner. I never notice Al Harrington having the problem of being put in the corner. Gallinari decided to just stand behind the arc and launch 3s, just like Chandler did... until he made the adjustment. Gallinari also made an adjustment later in the season, which shows it was his decision to stick in the corner and chuck 3s earlier in the season.
I also doubt the very efficient "17, 6, 3.5, 1.5, and 1" stat line, although 6 rebounds for a 6'11" F isn't too big of a leap. It's hardly enough to be compared to Dirk or Carmelo.
It's hard being a Knicks fan...

I think Hollinger had Wade like 9th or 10th. Actually below Lee. At least this is a little better.
But I would def have both Dirk and Wade ahead of Joe Johnson. I probably would even have Wade #1 overall.
I think people really over analyze the entire "ball dominant" aspect of things when it comes to Bron and Wade. They are both extremely intelligent players that seem to put winning first. That is a combination that would make it work. Pippen and Jordan made it work when they both had the ball in there hands a ton.
