We shipped them five-figures worth of cash, I do believe.

Nice. This has been a great set of transactions by Anthopoulos on the whole then. Even if they never really wanted to keep Eveland, it just goes to show that it never hurts to get another starter. Not only did the team flip him for a prospect, but they also got some innings and 3-4 good starts from him, which granted isn't much, but those 44 innings could really make a difference in saving this young rotation from fatigue.

I read this as "five fingers" (as in "what did the five fingers say to the face?") worth of cash at least 3 times before getting it right. I might think just a touch too highly of Anthopoulos.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Lucky there isn't too many of them.
