Re: Offeason involving turner, brand
I'm sorry but I just hate the idea of having Beasley on this team. The guy reminds me of perennial losers like Ricky Davis. He's still young but I view him as having negative value and want nothing to do with the guy.
I would never trade Flynn for our 1st back either. It's not as valuable of an asset as it once was. It's top 10 protected through next year (we will almost certainly get our pick next year) and after that it's unprotected (we should be at least in the middle of the pack). So in essence, that's like trading a pick in the teens for a nice young, athletic PG in Flynn who has All-star potential..

Re: Offeason involving turner, brand
The most I'd trade for the 2 is 4 + 16.
There's no way I'd give up Jefferson or Love, take bake Brand, or give up more value than that with the 4.
Also, Flynn is worth more than that and Beasley isn't a SF.

The 2nd pick in the 2010 draft will be held for ransom. You have to pay up or just move on.

Jefferson + 16 + Pekovic + taking Brand is more than enough ransom

Re: Offeason involving turner, brand
I'm sick of those trades with Philly and all those foreign guys trying to screw us...
Can't we just say our offer is sth like #4, #16 for #2? Take it or move on.

Assuming that's true, it's fine with me. I'd rather just draft one of the bigs who have just as much upside as Turner at 4, than get raped in a lopsided trade. There are plenty of good wings available in the draft or in trade.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Then I'm sure that most of the fans here and all of the Wolves' FO would be more than happy to just move on.
And if you're a Philly fan, then I hope for your sake that Turner turns out better than Thabeet, Beasley, Marvin Williams, Okafor, Darko, Stromile Swift, Tyson Chandler, and Jay Williams.
Seriously, it's kind of interesting, out of all the 2nd overall picks between 2000 and 2009, only Kevin Durant (Superstar) and Lemarcus Aldridge (solid player) haven't been busts.

I'd say Okafor and Marvin Williams are pretty solid, it's just their overall value is diminished because of where they were drafted. Sure, Okafor isn't the next Hakeem Olajuan, but he's still a solid C. Marvin Williams could've been really good, instead being the 4th option on a 3 seed in the playoffs isn't that bad.
Usually, a "safe pick" like turner isn't the choice at 2. Brandon Roy was considered the "most safe" pick in the draft where Aldridge went 2. Sometimes the "safe pick" has the potential to blow up too.
And to the OP; I'm not sure thats the direction I want to take this team in. If we trade some of our bigs I defineately want Darko back.

A "solid" player is good value in the tail end of the lottery. A "solid" player picked 2nd overall is a bust.

Touche, but the juries still out on Thabeet.

I agree. It's probably too early to call Beasley a bust, too. But at the same time, going to rehab in your sophmore year and being the highest pick ever sent to the D-League aren't good signs for future success.

Tough to be a big on a team that features Rainbow Randolph and the other Gasol, those two eat up almost 80min a game. He showed flashes and on a team with only about 10-15min open for another F/C, the D-League was the only place to get him some burn. Didn't he do great in his stint in the DL too?

Re: Offeason involving turner, brand
I can't believe that Flynn is viewed so low. He has some serious value. People think if the world isn't set afire, then he must be a bust. Not the case. He had a good rookie year, in a difficult system that's not catering to his strengths. He's worth way more.
I'm still one of the few that would be willing to take on some dead weight to get Turner. #4 and #16 or even dangle Love if needed...gotta get Turner!

I like Flynn, though he has a long way to go and will certainly need a few years to develop - that not a problem. He had an okay rookie season, but his basketball IQ is average, his ball-handling is suspect for smaller PG, and his defense is possibly bottom-10 in the league for players with his minutes.
