Henry or George?

Post#1 » by Esohny » Tue Jun 1, 2010 11:39 pm

Eh? Eh? You know you wanted this.

Taking into account age, upside, fit, where they will likely be drafted, etc etc. Who do you prefer?

Ooh, only 1767 to go.

I like them both because the both have last names that can be first names and first names that can be last names. Probably have to go with Paul George, though, 'cause he has two of the fab four covered in his name.

Strong argument.

George. I think he has more 'superstar' potential.

Zov E.A. Henry because he's got the size, elite shooter, younger, and played for an elite program. He has that winning pedigree that rarely transfers over to the NBA. Oh wait, I pick Paul George instead.

I'm going Henry because I like being different. Also, when so many collectlively agree it creeps me out and I get the feelings that it is an omen. Something about the "small school" vibe makes me think "rodney stuckey" more than "good player that went to a small school." I also see George having trouble against NBA defenses.

I'm also a fan of Kansas.

I'd say they're both pretty even athletically. Gimme George though.

I think George has the higher ceiling but Henry has the higher floor, but I get the feeling Henry has a better grasp of running around screens and general basketball knowledge. Saying that, I still take George.

I love Paul George's game but I don't understand why so many people are sold on him being better then Xavier Henry. If they are both available at 16, which doesn't seem realistic whatsoever, im taking Henry and not looking back. Maybe I'm completely off here, but Henry's skills remind me of James Harden...not just because they are both lefty....and the sophomore James Harden went 3rd overall. Imagine where Henry would go in next seasons draft if he stayed another year at Kanasas - playing the lead role for a year. Honestly on draft day I see Henry going in the 8-12 range just based on his potential. I am a huge Paul George at 16 supporter, but if they are both on the board at 16 im going Henry in a heartbeat.

I really don't mind whether it's George or Henry but for now I like George a bit more.

The difference between Harden and Henry is largely their handles. Harden had good handles which allowed him to overcome some of his physical shortcomings, but Henry can't create for himself and works better running off screens. It's one of the reasons for such a large discrepancy between the 2.

Again, Henry has potential but with George's physical tools he's clearly got the most potential.

I'd be stoked with that, just as long as we don't do Klomp's trade on the trade board.

Was it really that bad? I think its more that people saw that I put George there that may have them thinking bad trade. I've been saying for a long time that there is NO WAY George falls to 16. I guess I have him rated higher than most.

I don't know about that. George has been rising on a lot of draft boards for the last month. I agree that he probably won't be available at 16.
