Ouch. Russillo even says he didn't believe the rumors at first of Beasley being so unwanted, but it's the second time he's heard it from legit sources. He said Rod Thorn said no to Beasley for Keyon freaking Dooling.

supposedly Miami tried to trade Beasley for the unguaranteed Dooling, if thats what they want, would you trade unguaranteed for Supercool? I would

At this point I believe we need to take risk's so I would and to me Beasley is better option then Rudy Guy.

I'm worried other teams will forfeit out of fear before even stepping on the court

okay, truthfully, I think its like the Nuggets. They won't win a chip because Nene/Kmart/Carmelo/JR Smith are all immature knuckleheads to some extent, but doesn't mean they should or would trade them for a bunch of lesser talents that are professional, that'd just make them even worse.

At some point, we might have to make a decision when it comes to long term building around of guys like that, but in the mean time, give me some talent, please...

Also, you're talking about a talented former #2 pick for free and a guy w/ the size talent to go 1 or 2, but is going 4, these are the types of risks and gamble bad teams in a weak B-ball market like ours need to make

Absolutely. That's why I want nothing to do with him. Well that and the fact that he's yet another undersized PF but with only half a brain.

I don't know what to expect but he 's never really been in a true offensive system in Miami it's give Wade the ball and get out of his way. So he is worth the risk if we trade Gomes for him and next season he avg's lets say 18 and 8 hey nice player we got for nothing, and if he ends up a bust Miami is willing to give up a first rounder for somebody to take and we got him for nothing.

So I don't see what the problem is.

I would do that trade after the draft and if no other option present themselves by the 30th. Beasley is a talent upgrade over Gomes and can be a good combo forward off the bench (at minimum).

I think he can do both, but I prefer him as a SF. I know everybody says its impossible, but he hasn't been given enough minutes out their to acclimate himself to playing the position in the NBA.

I'm okay with taking a chance on Beasley ... Gomes is a good ole guy, but surely not taking us anywhere. Maybe Rambis learned from Jackson how to handle some of these underacheiving players ...

His stats are not horrible as is, but his ceiling is high. He's a tweener, but offensivley he could eventually cause some matchup problems for the opponent. Defensively, he's not very good right now and that should help him fit in here very well from the start.

We won 15 games ... trading Gomes for him (for example) is not going to hurt us.

I think he's better suited as a PF. Sure he can play SF but his shot is not really that good, he could improve his handles as well. He does have a lot of work to do to be an effective winger.

Um, no. If there's one thing to like about Beasley, it's his scoring. He had a down year for 3pt shots, but he'll hover around 38-40% for his career.

In his first year he was 33 out of 81 (.407) and in his second year he was 28 out of 102 (.275). That isn't great evidence for his ability to shoot. Even if he can hit at a 40% clip, if he only shoots about 1 a game, nobody is going to respect his shot.

I'm not saying he's going to shoot a ton of them, I'm just saying h's more than capable of making them. He's got a nice jump shot.
