It has begun...Delonte blackballed

this validates the rumors being true. Next step is no other team will sign him...eventually will be blackballed.

West is a nice trade asset, and I would assume they will look to get Danny Green some more PT next season. Also, I would assume this has to do with West's inconsistency throughout the season due to his mental issues as well as his gun charges, not the more recent rumor that was going around.

Seriously, only a ballboy would post this with such little insight as to why it may actually be something that the Cavs would have done all along. Even without the Mental issues and gun charges the Cavs would likely move his contract if it gets them a good asset.

I'd say Delonte is the one doing the black balling, oh snap.

Not sure if this validates a rumor of any sort.. But there is no doubt that the Cavs have been looking to move West since being eliminated by the C's. It is a given that he is probably the most inconsistent player on the roster right next to Mo.. The team was able to put up with West missing a bunch of games due to his bipolar disorder, personal issues, and injuries. With that said, it is best that he is moved, seeing that he is a great trading asset.. And it should be expected that the Cavs are getting something good in return, if/when they are to trade him.

West was great in 08-09 but very inconsistent last year. Oh well.

I will say that I think the organization did him right. They were not quick to dump him because of his off court issues.

Exactly. Delonte's contract is very valuable since only a small portion of it is guaranteed. He was probably going to be dealt regardless.

Ferry should be on the phone trading Delonte for Beasley.

That is true, I think that Delonte is better than Dooling so...

At this point the value of both Dooling and West lies simply with their contracts and not their play on the court.

It is kind of funny to hear people say things like, "Well West is better than Dooling, so..." West = Dooling, because both will never play a minute for the team that trades for them.

It's not a blackballing when it's brought on by valid reasons. West is a mentally unstable guy facing serious weapons charges, and his game is sporadic at best anymore. Now if he were coming off a strong season and had no gun issues, then maybe you could say he's being blackballed...but he's not.

detroit prolly isnt interested in making thier back court any smaller. They are already pretty small with BG playing the 2. Plus I dont think the salaries match.

Delonte most likely gets traded to a team that will cut him. Only 500k of his contract is guaranteed. So his biggest value right now is he can be used to help a team clear up to 5.4 million in salary under the luxury tax and/or salary cap by trading him for someone who makes up to 5.9 million. He could also be paired with another player who to clear even more salary (or simply to help match salaries), the other team has to keep the other player.

For instance, Delonte+Mo would be enough outgoing salary to get a max player back in return. In a situation like that, we can add picks, up to $3 million in cash, and/or a lower payed player like Hickson.
