Maybe he'll make an ESPN reality show about his "tour" so he can profit some more.
You look at how kobe is focused on winning another title (see avatar) but you have Lebron in the biggest offseason of his basketball career but he's out there selling sneakers. Lebron is USING fans to sell them his shoes based on their hope of him signing with their team. Really sad marketing ploy and too much attention for a guy who never won anything and hasn't been able to reach the finals with the top seed two years in a row.

Bron, is going to catch hell when this ploy from the two of the biggest market in the US because fans will fill used.

I too don't hate LeBron. At worst, he is a showman. It is sports and supposed to be fun. I'll like LeBron even if he remains in Cleveland.

I have no problem with how LeBron has acted or not acted. He is not even a free-agent yet. It's silly to make all these assumptions that are ungrounded and based on rumors and half-truths.

For example, I don't really think they're going to do this sneaker thing. It's a fake rumor. I bet you it never happens.

People need to stop jumping to conclusions about LeBron and jumping down his throat for nothing.

He didn't avoid signing that extension so he could create free-agent sneakers. Let's get real here.

He really wants to explore his options. It's genuine.

but my question is how would you feel about him if he signed with Chicago?

Anywhere but staying in C Land and I won't like it.

But as a personality, I like LeBron.

As far as "waiting" on LeBron, I'm not worried about that either.

If he truly wants to be a Knick, he'll understand making a quick decision is necessary. If he waits, it means he's not that into taking on the challenge. So I think the problem takes care of itself.

I doubt Donnie will wait for him. And I also doubt that he takes long to make his decision. He will probably visit a few places but I bet he's committed by July 5-15.

I can see the summer unwinding.

Monday July 5 - Lebron starts off in New York city, surrounded by screaming fans. Talks about the mecca and championships. Has fun on Letterman. Will get back to you.

Tuesday July 6 - Visits New Jersey, with a side trip to the site of the new arena in Brooklyn. Raps with Jay-Z. Will get back to you.

Thursday July 8 - Heads west to Chicago. Throws out 1st pitch at Wrigley. Talks about his endorsement empire on Oprah - presents her with a pair of sequinned Nike's - Chicago FA edition. Will get back to you.

Friday July 9 - Sunday July 11, posse lays over in Las Vegas.

Monday July 12 - Lebron glitters in LA. Officially he meets with the Clippers, but ESPN reports that his team is trying to work out a S&T that would send him to the Lakers. Nike unveils TWO LA FA edition shoes - one in red & blue, the other in Laker gold & purple. Will get back to you.

Wednesday July 14 - South Beach is ablaze with Lebron. He and Wade rent out a club for the night for their friends. Pat Riley casually point out how how Lebron will be a destitute loser with no friends and severe acne if he signs with New York, NJ, Chicago, LA or Cleveland. Will get back to you.

Friday July 16 - The FA tour ends in Cleveland. "I've enjoyed being the subject of so much adulation, but it is great to be home", he says. "I am so exhausted that I can't make a decision right away. Expect a press conference in Akron on Monday."

This is kinda sickening and does make is seem like he already knows he's staying in Cleveland. He just better not waste too much of our time.

Before the Boston series I was sure that it was between us and Cleveland with Cleveland slightly ahead, but after that series I'm convinced he wants out of that **** hole of town, not city because Cleveland doesn't deserve that title, but town. Now whether he leaves for us or Miami, provide Wade leaves for Chicago, I don't know, but if he re-signs with cleveland I'll be shocked.

Right now I can deal for him going anywhere but staying in Cleveland. Kinda seems this whole thing was to have his ego stroked by the entire league only to stay put.

As much as I dont want to see another dynasty in Chicago id rather him go there than stay in Cle so at least we would know that this past 2 years wasnt some big ploy to make him even more money and get all the attention possible even taking it away from a classic Finals matchup

I'm not sure which one is more saddening. You making this post or this post likely being accurate? The Miami part is the only thing I disagree on. It seems that part of your post was made for comedic purposes. Everything else seems accurate and how I expect it to end up. SMH.

Well ... I don't think he threw it per se ... but I think it could be that he felt they'd lose and kind of gave in.

I actually said he's a Knicks fan a couple of days ago. I honestly think he is. Not a cap-wearing, must-know-the-score type fan. But a fan nonetheless.

Why?

He understands the importance the Knicks have for the league.

He feels for the fans suffering.

He knows how great it would be for the Knicks to rise from the ashes.

He view NYC as the center of the universe.

These are all things that a Knicks fan would say. He's essentially a fan.

BTW ... LeBron looks at a Knicks hat and says "greatness" (twice) and "unbelievable franchise" and we as Knicks fans are taking it in stride. Honestly, I think he likes MSG and thinks highly of the Knicks as a marquee franchise ... but I don't think much of this. It's him being nice, etc., at least mostly.

Comparison:

Bulls fans think they're getting him because a 90-year-old Larry King says they have a "big shot" among other flagrantly wrong opinions that he gives.

So who is realistic and who is unrealistic again?

Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry is close to parting ways with the franchise less than two weeks after the dismissal of coach Mike Brown, triggering a dramatic reshaping of the team’s brain trust as it desperately tries to retain LeBron James(notes), league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

One source said it’s “very possible” an official decision could be announced as soon as Friday.

Ferry’s contract ends this summer. He had said after the Cavaliers’ second-round loss to the Boston Celtics that he would speak with owner Dan Gilbert to decide whether it was best for him to continue as GM. Ferry was disappointed about having to fire Brown, a close confidante from their days with the San Antonio Spurs. Gilbert had initially seemed open to bringing back Ferry, but sources said he ultimately expressed reservations about extending a long-term contract extension.

Assistant GM Chris Grant is expected to take over for Ferry.

Oh yea, Lebron is gone, he prolly told Ferry, and he doesnt want to deal with the headache of rebuilding, is this the death blow?

I just think they're scrambling to put Humpty back together again before LeBron leaves and takes the entire franchise down in his wake.

Knicksgod said: UPDATE: Nike says that it will not be making a shoe for every free-agent visit.

see, everyone is jumping to conclusions "lebron is a diva" ... "lebron is trying to profit off this, that and the other thing"... blah blah

Everything is falling into place as we hoped.. if anything, we shoudl be more optimistic than ever

1) LeBron has publically shown an affinitey for NY (statements, actual visitin the city, etc.)
2) Walsh went through with a lopsided trade to clear cap for THIS year which appears to have NO benefit unless James was coming to town with a 2nd max
3) Cavs lose in 2nd round (SECOND ROUND!!!!) as his teammates disappear AGAIN after a 1st seeded, 60+ win season...
4) New York is the 1st destination for his free agent tour
5) Bosh (via sources) named NY as one of his destinations, and also said pairing with LeBron is the first preference, and NY is the only team that can sign them outright

these are all facts

Will he return to Cleveland? I really REALLY don't think so... he "quit" on them this playoffs, their team is capped out, devoid of assetts (well, they got big expirings, thats it), and old, fading fast, and has no stars nor the ability to add a star without significant baggage

I believe LeBron would have bolted 3 years ago, but his options were limited as far as teams with projected cap space. Hence, he gave it another 3 years, all before the typical prime age of 27, which also gave other potential teams (cough cough New York) to do what they needed to clear their cap.

That knocks cleveland off the list, who already had 7 chances to build a champ and failed (losing Boozer, signing Hughes/Marshall/Jones, killing flexibility by trading for overpaid, no defense vets)

As for other options, only Chicago poses a legit argument for LeBron. Miami and Clippers aren'ty even locks for his FA visits. New Jersey? shoot me.

I'm going to Bodog tonight to put $500 on LeBron to Knicks, ill take the great odds!!!

This could be a huge win for us on the Lebron chase.

Absolutely agree with Knicksgod that Lebron is secretly a fan of the Knicks. Remember that article about him watching the Knicks game in the back and cheering them on during a win...at the time it was kind of a "well he watches every game and it was a good game" but looking at his love for NY and the fact he wasn't rooting against the Knicks and his love for MSG, NYY, Jay-Z AND his comment "greatness...greatness" ...I'm just sayin'
