Rubio says he "will stick by the Timberwolves"

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) -- Ricky Rubio is promising NBA fans they'll get to see his razzle-dazzle, but not before the 2011-12 season -- and not necessarily with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Rubio tells the Associated Press that he won't leave Spanish club Barcelona before his opt-out clause comes up after next season.

The 19-year-old Spaniard will stick by the Timberwolves, but expects improvements.

He is also "open to everything," like playing for another team should a trade deal come along that Minnesota finds hard to pass up.

Rubio sees himself as a player in the mold of Magic Johnson and Steve Nash, and wants Shaquille O'Neal to stick around -- he's the one player he most wants to face.

I have always loved turner but honestly hearing that makes me think we need to try even harder for him...we have one year to load the **** out of this team so Ricky will come nut on the NBA for us and we need to impress the hell out of him in just one year.

Does Rubio not realize that the lotto teams are bad and that they need the actual player that the franchise drafted in order to improve? These improvements will show better once he's on the team.

I think it is funny that he says he is staying with the wolves, but ESPN highlights the "willing to move" portion. What a joke.

No kidding...I hope so badly he plays here for a long time...both for our sake, and for the sake of telling the rest of the league and media to shove it....minnesota is a relatively hot spot for players in the nfl and mlb right now...so wtf does the media think its so terrible for basketball...same damn city...not like the vikings and wolves aren't both playing indoors during the winters...eff the media. We need this little amigo bad.

Where's the journalistic integrity? An article based on a three word quote? They can't even give us his entire sentence? Looks like they have an agenda to sell newspapers and suggesting he might play elsewhere fulfills that agenda.

This is hardly even an article.

There is no by-line on it. No one has put their name to it.

The guy who wrote this probably has no idea what is really going on with Rubio but him and the rest of the mass public will feel like he is breaking some real news.

Oh its a terrible 'article'....I guarantee the questions weren't open ended but the fact that it included the bit about sticking by the T-Wolves was worth posting...simply cuz we haven't heard a whole helluva lot from him regarding playing here...granted, that isn't a direct quote in this article but I doubt the anti-minnesota media would have included that if it wasn't said by ricardo.
