Cool, thanks for making all these threads j-far!

Can't wait for the USA match...not looking forward to waking up that early though.

Is CST 1 or 2 hours ahead of PST?

I'm anticipating the US/England game would be awesome. There is a lot of hype riding on this.

Dempsey will be integral to our success, I can't wait to see him play. He's the type of player that relishes the crunch time and the spotlight...the exact opposite of DaMarcus Beasley.

Sadly England is crazy deep at CB. The starters there will be Carragher and Terry now and that's not really a downgrade.

IMO, it will be Terry and Dawson. Dawson is just one of those guys that always works hard, no matter how difficult his obstacle might be, as shown from this season, started as the Spurs' 4th CB then became a legit starter and their player of the season. I think his work ethic will appeal to Capello and wouldn't be surprised if he starts against the USA.

EDIT: Your locations is so wrong! :D

Dope, you know anyone going to the WC?

Random: I want to go visit England and hit up an Aston Villa game next year, do you know where their stadium and if it is a good or bad neighborhood?

Na, pretty much every single one of my friends are still studying for their university exams. Plus, the costs would be trumendous.

Well I've never been up north there my friend goes to university there and it's a REALLY good university I think around 20-30 minutes walk from Villa Park. He also said that the area is a really nice area with some recent developments throughout the city, I'd recommend doing if I were you, people tend to think us Brits hate Yanks, but to be fair as soon as we see one that likes football, we offer them a beer and a night out.

Also, if there's on thing I'd recommend you'd do, is to highten your hearing sense. Northern accents are really difficult to pick up even for me, it literally took me a couple of weeks of my friend whom I go to uni with from Birmingham talking just to get use to it.

Here try to decrypt this:

I thought it wasn't that bad, then again my first time in the UK I was up in Dundee Scottland and it took me 3 days to start piecing together wtf anyone was saying, even my buddy who had only moved there from Chicago about 3 years prior was almost impossible to understand, I had to have him translate his "english" into russian for me to understand him.

England should win this and I'm hoping USA pulls off second place. To be honest, i kind of expect England-USA to end in a draw because the americans will treat that game like its the finals... other than that England goes through with ease

That's a good point. I definitely expect them to pull a defend-defend-defend-counter attack and repeat strategy. As long as Lennon doesn't chew us up on the outside we should be fine. Lennon isn't the type of player to break down your entire defense and then demolish your goalkeeper with a great strike. He's going to run the flanks very well and serve in crosses. He can break down defenses like none other, but he won't be the one scoring goals. That's up to Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney, and Crouch or Defoe.

With all that said...we're kinda F'd on his crosses if we don't mark perfectly. Gerrard+Lampard outside the 18 is freakin deadly. I'm sure they could put it on frame from that distance 9/10 times in a game situation if they wanted to.
