im with slam on the rebounding. its something i watch alot when i go to games. tyson and boris are usually very good at boxing out their man or others. while they may not get the rebounds, they allow their teammates to get them which is all that really matters. crash, boris and tc always seemed to have great chemistry as a rebounding unit.

I like the way you are thinking, but despite what good about Diaw's rebounding, the numbers suggest he's subpar.

The cats are a good rebounding team, and Boris doesn't hurt them on the defensive end. They still rebound well with him there, though not any better than without him. This is likely because of his boxing out.

But on the offensive end it's a disaster. The cats go from well above average on that end when Diaw is off court, to being not very good at all. And Boris is grabbing a measely 5% of the available boards there. That is not very good at all for a PF.

The offensive rebounding is so bad that it pulls down the overall team rebounding figure (that includes both ends) by -2.5%, which is a large negative impact for one player.

Good analysis he doesn't contribute enough on offensive boards but on most of the plays Boris is at top of the key distributing the ball or setting screens for the shooters so is often away from the offensive rebounds...

That's a thing he need to work on maybe

that makes sense. boxing out doesnt usually help too much on offense rebounds.

one of the reasons those late 90's hornets were always good was because of their size. Bass always valued that over everything else. When all else fails, take a PF or C with your draft picks or trades.

I actually think TT if he plays smart, can be way better for this team than Diaw. Diaw's value to us goes way down if he refuses to consider himself one of the top offensive options, especially in the post.

Diaw is sort of a tease really.

I would love to see them work out some kind of deal that lands a big time PF like Boozer. I think we have the pieces to make it happen too.

Don't hold your breath. He has been in this league for sometimes now and he's not gonna change now. In fact, I think his best days (Phoenix when Amare was out) are well behind us.
