The Sandman album release concert/party was insane. He killed it!!

Bought his CD from fatbeats this past week but havent gotten a chance to unwrap it, will do so soon.

The new drake CD is pretty solid. Feeling Karaoke, Fireworks, Shut it down.

... And I'm going to SOBs this tuesday to see Styles P and Skyzoo. Chea!

The Sandman album is really good. No weak tracks. My favorite track is still Strange Planet.
I have clips of the Sandman show. If I have time I will upload it.

Skyzoo will also be performing at the Blackmoon, Sean Price, and Duckdown show in July. He has nice track on the new Marco Polo album that is going to drop at the end of the month.

Not big on the guy.

The Drake cd is what I expected, a three mic effort. His flow is almost never varied on it, but he has some good stuff. I didn't like the song order actually, it started off too slow for too long. I'm not a huge Drake fan though so I guess that makes sense.

In terms of what I'm listening to, just got my hands on Jemini's old EP...GREAT stuff. D/L'ed his album with Dangermouse too and I like it a lot. Too bad dude never blew up. I've also got the Travis Mccoy album because I liked Gym Class Heroes on the different tip. It's not bad, if you're looking for something outside of the straight rap/hip hop book.

I did not like this. I think it has a lot to do with this fusion of Hip-Hop. I don't like where it's going but I'll pull one out for you. I don't like this artist at all nor his lyrics on this track but the concept and sounds on the track definitely is on point..... if this is the kind of merge we're talking about. Musically it has the Devo/Talking Heads/The Cure meet Prince/Rick James/Ray Parker Jr. vibe to it

Matter of fact I'm only going to post the instrumental

Here is his new single

If you go to his site http://www.homeboysandman.com you can download his mixtape for free. I guess you can download his mixtape (There is no Spoon) and then see if you are not feeling his lyrics and flow.

Sandman is still somewhat new musically to the scene although he's been on his personal grind for a minute. I think he has skills but your thoughts on him sum up how I feel about B.O.B. although it's more than obvious musically he has talent across the board.

Uh Oh Johnjier is lurking ready to do a drive by Sota Pop Pinsky style on this Hop-Hop discussion. Guard your D's.... Tuck your Chains.... and get up on the rooftop with the Techs

When I interviewed Sandman he told me that he has only been rhyming seriously about 3 years.Yet the guy is gifted. He also is a Knicks fan and feels that Lebron is not ready for New York.

I'm d/l'ing the free tape and I'll definitely check it because Distant Relatives is the only new tape I've been peeping. You guys should try and check for Jemini, he's by no means new...but dude's work is nice and I absolutely slept on it. I haven't given Sandman much attention, but I've recognized skill, but nothing of his has really tugged at me. That single you linked of Sandman's for some reason reminded me of M.F. Doom...that's not a bad thing...but I'm not a huge fan of Doom's delivery. I like him lyrically but not musically, if you get what I'm saying...and I felt the same about that track.

As for B.O.B (Bluest)...I could see people not feeling him. I think his mixtape stuff showed more rugged technique than the album, but for a pop hip hop jawn, that was a great album to me. Actually, your comment about not fusion hip hop probably lends itself to your feelings about B.O.B. He's very much fusing many genres and making a sort of mix in much of his music. I'd love for him to drop a whole mixtape of tracks like "Bet I" for the hardcore heads...but it probably won't ever happen. Fusion to me, is a lot of fun. I listen to a lot of different genres of music, so it's cool catching the things that characterize one genre mixed with another. I couldn't be mad at a person for not feeling it though because it sorta reminds me of the MMA debates. It borrows from multiple styles but it's a master of none in most cases. I think it causes a progressive flow/delivery though because you can't just ride every beat with one flow (the homey drake, no hate, just saying) and you can come up with unique concepts and rhyme schemes. That might just be me, and even I understand that a lot of times it's hit or miss with disastrous results but...I can dig it haha.

I'm glad you check out Sandman. I think people are sleeping on him. If you like the mixtape when you are finished listening to it you should try picking up his new cd "The Good Sun". His new album is better than his mixtape.

Em's album is leaking fast. If you haven't heard No Love ft Weezy hurry up and check it out. They're GREAT together, I didn't expect that level of quality. Blows that garbage track with Pink away!

Oh and this dropped and I teared up listening to the combination together...knowing that it won't be on Big Boi's album because of labels beefing is frustrating.

Recovery has officially leaked...will be listening to that right away. PS Cee-Lo's album deserves a description too, but I need to hear this first.

And also, I think this battle was hilarious "I'll out-white you"
