Beasley?
Why don't we try to get him? Seems to me that he can play SF, shoot 3s, and can play a little D. Also, we can probably get him for nothing.

Re: Beasley?
I guess that can be an option. I never saw him as that good a defender but then again I'd have to see more of him. Also I just wonder where his maturity level is at, but he did do a better job this season. He's also probably better than other SF's we could get in the draft. I say maybe we should wait after the draft and see if we can sign a free agent.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

I'm a bit indifferent toward the guy. He's been a bit of a flop in Miami, but maybe he just needs a change of scenery to awaken his inner demon.

Re: Beasley?
I believe he worked with Lucas to get his head straight so I'm
not worried about his baggage.
His contract is not bad and is cheaper than resigning Butler or Outlaw. I don't know if Miami will wait around to unload him as they want as much cap space as possible so we might have to
move on this fast.

So what's the consensus on a potential trade? Our #1 pick?

Well if we're going based on recent news. Just cap space. Who knows of the Dooling for Beasley trade is even legit, but that is what everyone is going based on. Throw in a 2nd rounder to spice things up for them.

Re: Beasley?
If we are under the cap, we can trade for salaries without giving any back in return, right?
I guess the issue is, does he still really have any 'upside', or is WYSIWYG with this guy now. Obviously Miami does not think much of the guy they picked at #2 just 2 years ago. Just a random article I found on him-

Here's a pro-Beasley blog post FWIW-

I don't know, I would take a flyer on the guy, just because he's available for cheap and I hold no hope the Clippers would sign any big FA's anyway. Only prob is that PF seems to be his best position (better slightly undersized PF than too-slow SF), and we already have one...

Re: Beasley?
I think it might even be less like signing Collins or Bobby Brown to a non guaranteed contract them trading him to Miami just to get waived.
If we can't get Lebron or Dwade, I just hope we don't settle for Joe Johnson.

Re: Beasley?
I wouldn't mind taking a chance on Supercoolbeas. I think it's still too early to write him off. Look at Bargnani. It was his third year where he started to really improve. But again, can he play SF? If we were to get him, I'd want him playing significant minutes. But I think we're all ready set at PF with Blake, Gooden, and Smith. It's this bloody SF spot that we can't seem to get a solid starter.

Is SuperCoolBeas a good defender? IMO we need a smart, selfless, and strong defender at the SF spot that can match up with guards and fowards.

Re: Beasley?
No way I want Beasley anywhere near the team. Like the above, although im a huge BD fan, Baron is up and down with his effort.
Having Beasley, Baron, Kaman on the same team would be a recipe for disaster. Effort level and general level of play would be up and down so much. Plus im sure Beasley is actually a PF where Blake plays and either way doesnt play any D.

Re: Beasley?
I will say this: I'd take Beasley over any of the SFs in the draft.
but he won't fit unless we get a new starting PG, or someone who can actually lead the team and handle the ball (EJ, step up to the plate).

Re: Beasley?
If we missed out on the big names and Miami was still in a position to get a 3rd piece, I'd probably do it. My problem with Beasley is I don't really like his game. I'd be taking him purely for talent's sake. A new environment could definitely help and he'd have some players his own age from the same high school class that are all hard-working, focused and good influences. If we're to put him at 3, he needs to work on his perimeter shot, ball-handling and passing ability. Actually passing the ball would be a step in the right direction for him.

Nope, that's not Beasley.
He's a tweener forward, cause he's a real good rebounder and can score some down low, but he's too slow footed to defend the sf's of this league.
I wouldn't mind him on this team, for the right price, but i'd play him as our 6th man providing scoring off the bench while backing up both forward spots.

I'd take him as a solid back-up to Griffin so the load won't be as hard on him

Re: Beasley?
Im a Miami Heat fan, and as far as Beasley I can shed some light on a lot.
1. the Dooling/Beasley Trade was false
2. Great Scorer, hybrid forward, just not in the right system. He needs to be with a team that is high scoring
3. Riley will not give him up for nothing, remember he had Amare for Beasley trade and pulled it. He felt he could get Amare in free Agency and would rather use Beasley or trade him for another great player
So with that said expect to give up something good for Beasley or add Cook, and JJ for a great package

Re: Beasley?
I doubt that Beasley's someone the Clippers target, as long as he isn't available on the cheap.
He's not a real sf in this league and we've got Blake Griffin at that other forward position, which means Beasley would most likely end up being a back up at both forward spots.
That's why i doubt that there's any interest in Beasley on the Clippers side.
