He didn't do a bad job but he was kind of random saying almost anything while riding the multis and back-to-back-to-back on a bar. I'm tired of Royce nutriding Em it's way past rotten. I hope their deal flops or falls through with Aftermath/Shady records. Can't stand blatant smoochers in Hip-Hop.

I didn't mind Royce and thought he was killing it...then he did the bars about rapping with the Greatest Alive...and I soured, but before that he ripped it. Em's lyrics were just old school laced together madness. It was a Slim Shady verse, not the substantial thought stuff from Recovery but man could he run through multi's and put together some angry ass punchlines every couple of bars. Check that Outkast track, it's a beautiful thing to hear those two work together again.

What pisses me off when dudes do this is listening to them solo in their own element or when they jump on someone's track . Royce is constantly talking about how nice he is in his own element or on collabo track. Get's around Em or when he's begging him off indirectly through group pieces... he strokes balls. Is this because it's the only way he can get a deal or feel recognition by claiming him? Look dude we know the affiliation.... stop pubbing it off any chance you get. I'm not going to cop your stuff because of how tight or in you are with Em and broadcasting it like trick. I think Royce did a really good job on NY Finest the first drop in this thread and a couple other he's done but he needs to stay true to himself at all times.

Listening to OutKast Mesh now.

That What Is Love sample is pretty epic in that Em/Weezy song. They both killed it. Is that the next single?

That's why I stopped feeling Game, too much name dropping. Royce, to be fair, is a Detroit Rapper and those dudes roll insanely tight and really care about each other like fam...but it'd be nice for him to just run with his skills because I think Detroit Rock City is a really good album and all Em did was the hook on one song. Granted though, if Em put my group on, I'd kiss his ass for a while too, but Royce earned it...as did Slaughterhouse. I wouldn't kiss up in that case, so it makes me question his confidence in his own ability or at least his ability to get a deal.

TW, It better be, it's really good! I think the Pink jawn will be though to aim at crossover appeal. Talkin 2 Myself woulda been a better first single than Not Afraid imho. I'm three tracks deep only though so we'll see.

Finally DLed Drakes album. I think its weak. Way too soft for me, but I should have expected that. This is basically just baby making music. Not my cup of tea. I got B White for that.

Like I said, he's 3 mic Drake. In other Drake news, he allegedly challenged a Smack/URL rapper named Hitman Holla to a battle. Said put up 100,000 dollars and he'd do it in a convo with friends. The friends called Nelly, who called Holla (he's from St. Louis). It'll never happen, no way they'd let him do that...but man...I'd respect him a lot more.

I'm 12 tracks deep on Recovery and it's far and away a superior product to Relapse and Encore. About half these tracks are extremely introspective and people won't feel that, but if you're going to shout out Drake's songs about his ex (there are a lot of those), then no way should you whine about a track covering his drug addiction in semi-story form and his couple of break-up songs...They've got way more depth and as someone with a family history of drug addicts I teared up a little at Going Through Changes (no homo). What's dope is that he has a couple of tracks that pretty much are break up tracks but with hip hop, and I really love the way he works the concept.

Technical side, his multi's are pretty sick. Not many are forced at all (unlike half Relapse), and his lyricism is just sharper on a whole. His delivery is okay not great. He yells his songs a LOT and I could see people getting annoyed by it. No accents so far, beats are a bit repetitive but it helps the album flow from song to song fluidly. His flow, surprisingly, is a bit repetitive (and I kill Drake for that)...luckily his schemes are fresh and his multi's are catchy as hell. He also relies on others for hooks a lot, but in a good way not a bad way.

I REALLY like this album. He's a vet and it shows after bumping so much of the next gen stuff. I think, if you weren't feeling Em on MMLP, SSLP or Eminem Show...you probably won't feel this either...but for those who find those as classic or borderline classic, there's a lot of vintage Em on this album.

You pretty much said my thoughts about Recovery.

I think this album helped me in a weird way. I used to make it hit home. I now just listen.

I think they did a better job on this track compared to Drop The World and Forever...if Em would change his voice to a more natural sound I think it would sound so much better.

It was "meh" in comparison to previous anthems. Too much DJ work imho, but glad to see Locksmith get more exposure. Grindtime Emcess coming up.

Yeah, like I said in my album mini-review, he yells his verses too much. I don't even think it's on purpose, I think he's just lost his delivery...and it takes away from his presence rather than making him more intimidating.
