Only one person can control his name being floated around in job discusssions - and that person is him.

If he would just open his mouth and verbally commit to the Bobcats (and his contract) then people might get off his case.

I'm 95% of the way to telling him to pack his bags and that we don't need him and his BS.

I don't know if that is fair. Maybe this is as committed as LB can be; maybe in his world, he has opened his mouth and verbally committed by saying he'll only coach for MJ. To most people, that leaves a lot of wiggle room and seems like he's just trying to look out for #1, but maybe he's getting frustrated that his name is mentioned in Cleveland, Philly and LA and he feels like he's done what he can to minimize the speculation but knows he can't control the media.

I know I'd like something more solid from him, I'm just saying, he's a quirky guy. Who knows?

If he leaves now I will be a little annoyed with him. Not because he left, I don't expect him to coach us until he drops dead, he has every right to change jobs like anybody else in the world. I would be annoyed because we're getting a late start on the coaching search.

Frankly, if you read what he says, and seemingly how he's saying it (grumpy...irritated), I think this whole deal IS related to his family situation. Clearly his much younger wife Shelly (46) want's her daddy back at home, and she's trying to dictate the terms. Personally I don't know why the guy keeps at it, being 69 with children and a wife who is clearly giving him a hard time about being away. This is eating at him, and he's feeling an obligation to doing what he loves to do for a guy he respects a lot in MJ. I don't think Shelly's the "bad guy" in this, but she moved from California to NY then to Philly, and she ain't coming here. That would get anybody in a pissy mood.

The problem is that we don't live in a world that just involves Larry. It's not his world. Even if he thinks that by saying things like: well, I'm here aren't I at a work out or I guess I am under contract is going to put everyones minds at ease he is crazy.

Saying "I wont coach for anyone other than MJ" doesn't say that he wont leave and GM the Sixers or the Cavs or the Clippers. He's hedging his bets, being all coy and then getting pissy pants when people call him on it.

All he has to do is open his trap and say I am committed to the Bobcats and will be their head coach for the next season or for as long as MJ will have me.

He'd only have to stay it once and all of this would go away.
