I doubt Orlando could get Nocioni for Gortat straight up. As that's the maximum I'd offer for him. What has he even shown to justify his MLE deal, let alone a top 5 pick???

Some Orlando fans are even the ones saying they're the ones who are "unsure" of doing this trade, lmfaooooo.

Nocioni is a bad contract, Gortat isn't, Gortat may not be worth #5 but he's definitely a positive value.

How is Gortat NOT a bad contract? He has more years and more money owed to him than Nocioni with less production. Don't give me that. Nocioni's not a good contract, but Gortat is a BAD contract until he proves he can actually play in the league(which he's yet to do consistently).

He's playing behind Dwight Howard how much production do you want?plays he's a big mass, strong, boxes out well, his rebounding numbers aren't that high but good enough especially with him boxing out the opposing bigs, and decent enough offensively.

Basically agree with SRV. Gortat has absolutely proven he can play in this league. He' just only going to get so much time playing behind Dwight. That might change now though, now that SVG that the world won't collapse if he doesn't have 4 3-point threats around Dwight. The Dwight/Gortat frontline looked pretty good at times in the playoffs.

Frank in Sacramento:
Hi Steve, 1)If you could get either COUSINS, MONROE or GORTAT with the 5th pick, who'd you take? 2)If you're MIN &get a PHILA offer of #2(TURNER) & DLMBR(1yr left)for A.JEFF & #4 Do you take it? Thanks.
Steve Kyler:

- Gortat is not in this draft and you can not obtain him for the #5 pick.

I think he was speaking literally, as in there's no way to tell since he's not in the draft. At least I hope because if not, he's (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

Bill Ingrim is just a horrible evaluator of talent. I seem to recall him thinking that Houston would flat out refuse something like Scola/Battier/Budinger for Brook Lopez. Some idiot Nets fan was throwing it out there and he was like "This isn't a fire sale, buddy". He's not terrible overall, but he flat out can't evaluate talent at all.

Kyler sometimes can be pretty wrong about certain players, but I still think his chats are among the best out there as far as explaining the reasoning behind business decisions and such.

This thread is still valuable to discuss the value of the pick and the value of a relevant player like Gortat to the Kings.

In the mean time, hows about we cut back on the backseat modding?

ATL Hawks fan here. If y'all watched our playoff series with the Magic, you saw Zaza Pachulia really take it to Gortat. So, if Gortat is worth the 5th, then Zaza's worth the 4th.

I'll be awaiting your offers (of the 5th and more) for our wonderful backup center.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.
