HowardBeckNYT NBA board of governors unanimously approves sale of the Wizards to Ted Leonsis, the league announced.

Awesome! Now Ted can actually say what's on his mind regarding the team.
Its a new era...that says it all. Hope it means we can put to rest all that jinx talk that we commonly associate with the previous owners.
Lets go Wiz! Bring us a championship. I'm feeling good, and looking forward to a great future for this team.

It's a great day in the DC metro area.

I'm one who firmly believes that it all starts at the top. We have been running in circles for to long and finally we can get off the merry go round.

The rebuild started many years ago but no finally we can rebuild smarter. Ted is coming into a pretty good situation. Not perfect but pretty damn good.

We have pieces. Young Talent. Dray, McGee, Etc
We have the number 1 pick and a second first rounder.
We have cap space.
We have some nice vet players to get us through the transition.

This team can be good right away.

Wall as Rondo
Gil as Ray Allen
SF - Big Gay Al with maybe Josh once he is healthy.
PF - Dray as KG. Man I was watching the game 3 last night and though, KG looks like Dray - lol
C - I guess it's McGee's job though I still haven't seen that is can man the postion defensively yet.

With that line up you know your 1a and 1b scoring options. Dray and Gil with Wall deciding who to feed, when and in what spot.

Still a lot of questions regarding who stays and who goes but at least we have someone running the show with long term in mind.

Sheila Johnson was announced as a part of Ted's investment/ownership group. Sheila is Bob "Bobcat" Johnson's ex-wife and co-founder of BET. Apparently, we narrowly missed having exes each with an ownership interest in a different NBA team.
(EDIT: Oops, I forgot that Sheila had been a part of Lincoln Holdings since '05. So, she had a minority ownership interest while Bob was still the majority owner of the Bobcats)
