Anything could be anything. But what if it's nothing? Is it still something?

So, Morgan Freeman's new show premiered last night on the Science Channel. It was really well done. The CGI stuff has really gone a long way since Docu's Years ago.

It's called Through the Wormhole, and it airs on Wednesdays at 10 PM EST each week. The 1st week's episode dealt with God, and the Physics of Creation...anyone who has commented in this Thread so far will want to check it and the Series out.

I don't have the science channel where I'm at which sucks. I'm tired of flipping to discovery and seeing The Deadliest Catch on...I would rather discover things about the Universe, Earth processes, animals than to watch an hour long show about people catching sea creatures or whatever it's about.

So I just had this random thought today - Did our current human beings end the evolution of Homo sapiens? There is nothing we really need to adapt to, so our bodies don't really change. We use science and technology to achieve what we cannot physically achieve. Has our scientific advancements halted evolution (mutations aside)? Or slowed it down at least?

Even if we have, I get the sense that eventually we'll evolve through science (genetic enhancements) at some point. They can already play with dna....ethics is the issue.

I think our classic evolution has stopped, because we don't let the natural selection do it's job. The technical growth might be too fast for us to adapt to the situation the technology leads us, so the only evolutionary change I see for the humanity is going down on the hill. We'll be fat, unhealthy and too lazy to do anything, because technology gives us everything we need. We should let nature do it's job.

An exoplanet that orbits its star backwards has been found for the first time. The planet is also the most bloated found to date, and some astronomers suspect that both properties can be traced back to an earlier close encounter with a planetary sibling.

The solar system generally rotates like a record album, with most objects orbiting the sun in the same direction as the sun itself spins. This is thought to result from the fact that everything formed from the same natal cloud of gas and dust.

However, some objects, including a number of comets and asteroids, move in orbits that are so tilted with respect to the orbital plane of the planets that they end up travelling in the opposite direction. Astronomers think they were gravitationally thrown out of their original orbits by passing objects.

Three extrasolar planets have previously been found on orbits that are tilted with respect to the plane they should have been born in. But now, a planet called WASP-17b has been found on an orbit that is so tilted – by about 150° – that it is moving in the opposite direction to the spin of its star.

"All the others have been going in more or less the right direction, just tilted at crazy angles," says team member Andrew Collier Cameron of the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. WASP-17b, which lies 1000 light years away from Earth, is "pretty weird", he told New Scientist. "It really throws the cat among the pigeons."

Going back to my original post, some people are throwing out theories that this is nibiru that had crashed into earth and is now revolving backwards as was depicted in the Sumerian tablets. Far fetched of course but it is still impressive that human beings had knowledge of these things back then.

Anybody know about the aquatic ape theory? it makes more sense to me then the savannah theory. Our skin(lack of fur), fat layer(blubber), ability to hold breath underwater(babies too!), etc.. should be enough reason to think twice about the savannah theory. There must have been a point in time a certain pocket of apes were forced to adapt to a semi-aquatic environment.

i never noticed this thread before (with all the free agency 2010 talk and the playoffs) but i have an interest in this type of subject matter...but more importantly, my dad is EXTREMELY interested in this as he is both devoutly religious and a professor of chemistry and biology, and an amateur physicist. I'll see if i can download it or something...would be great to watch it with him for father's day, thanks for the heads up.

Coast to Coast AM is the best radio talk show on the air. Take a listen to all 11 vids, it gets very interesting with talks of Egyptians using screen projectors and sound waves.

Man this thread has blown my mind, in a weird way. I had no idea some of you guys were into this sorta stuff. I wouldnt say its good or bad, but its definitely interesting to say the least to hear all of these theories. There is obviously alot of things that are not explained in our society, but there also seems to be alot of piecing together just to try and explain aspects that aren't there. Something to believe in. Because if you dont believe in something, you'll fall for anything...

Haha I just watched all the parts to this. I highly suggest any fan of music, especially hip hop, watch this video. I mean Ive known about the Illuminati for a while but never really looked into it until now. All this sh*t makes sense, but Im still skeptical.

Watch all the parts and let me know what you think. This guy FarhanK who has all these Illuminati videos on youtube are worth watching. From the murders of Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, JFK, etc to the downspiral of DMX. Its all here. Pretty wacky stuff.
