Yeah, I thought for a second they meant PJ Brown.

The reason that statement by Brussard bothers me because I actually think that a guy like Chris Bosh has no intention of signing with us and he'd just be coming to party for a few days on our dime. Of course, he Wade or Lebron come, then that's a completely different story, but the idea of some players taking advantage of us in that way irks me. Yes, some players have gone on recruitment trips to sort of make other teams that want them "nervous" and that's fine. That's part of the negotiating game. But if they're just coming so party, the irks me a little.

Truthfully, I don't think Yi is going anywhere at least for next season. Yes he's streaky, but he may be able to be solid for us off the bench next year.

I've said it a ton of times, his style and size would work well in the triangle offense. If we bring Phil Jackson in (long shot I believe but you never know with the fun comments he's making lately), I don't think we'll move him at all.

With that said though, if something came along that made us better (i.e. someone offered us a good player for him and an expiring like when we traded RJ) then all bets are off. I can't see us moving him for just nothing or a future draft pick or something like that though.

All reports are leaning towards Yi being shipped out for weeks now.
I think we'll take just about anything semi-positive for him.

I haven't heard any thing of fruition on that really though. A lot of that is David D and other beat writers saying they're waying their options with Yi and some people in the organization feel he needs to go. I would have thought in the last few weeks we would have heard something about us calling teams or teams calling us about him just like we did about Devin two weeks ago.

Thing is, I doubt Yi is a very hot commodity, that's why we're not hearing much about other teams calling us or us calling other teams.

One deal I thought that could have some weight is Yi for Brandon Bass.

How much was the deal Bass signed this offseason and for how long. He's a ballhog, but he would be a solid low post scoring option on our 2nd unit.

My feeling is...this team is going to try to create another 8-9 mil in cap space or to to do a sign and trade as part of a move to land two top tier free agents.

Options for contracts that go away....

Devin Harris

Or all of this....
Yi
Humphries
Plus one of CDR or the 27th pick

I think ideally, we would have landed Wall, and resolved the PG spot for many years to come making it easier to deal Harris for future picks...perhaps get a quality role guy making less cash in a package deal...move out someone else...like Humphries as well.

With Wall not there, the less desireable move...give up Yi becomes more in play. I do think Yi fits in with marketing plans more than Devin but, given a choice from a fan stand point? While I am not a huge Devin fan and I really like Yi...Devin derstroys Yi as a player. It makes it an easier decision for me to see him be shipped out for future picks.

Netsdaily is reporting that FCE has the funding to complete the Barclay's center. They are still optimistic about have completed for the start of the 2012 season. Hopefully there are no holdups because I don't think we can afford anymore. I think we are in the clear now. Brooklyn 2012 here we come.

If we are shipping Yi and keeping Devin, I would expect us to be looking for a team under the cap that give us a future protected #1 and get the cap space.

The Blueprint For Greatness - a 225' x 75' billboard featuring images of the Nets' new owner and Jay-Z, intertwined with the words, "Blueprint for Greatness", will be completed...at the corner of 34th and 8th...overlooking Madison Square Garden!

The Blueprint For Greatness

I mentioned this in the Brooklyn thread, but this deserves one of its own (which I'll merge after a few posts).
