T. Allen: Kobe Intentionally Kicked me in the neck

Post#1 » by IceNcream27 » Thu Jun 10, 2010 7:55 pm

Tony Allen took eight stitches in his upper lip, and also said he suffered a neck injury in Game 3 thanks to Kobe Bryant's foot.

Allen's says that Kobe kicked him while he was down in the fourth quarter. "I slipped and he actually kicked me in the neck," Allen said. "That's what he did. I ain't too happy about that, neither. But he kicked me in my neck and it is what it is." Allen however, is not sure how he hurt his lips that needed stitches.

Keep an eye on Allen and Kobe tonight, but the fact remains that it's probably a good thing Kobe didn't kick him in the knee instead.

Intentional? Thats a deep shot and you need legs to get that shot off. Kobe RARELY kicks that much to shoot.

complaining again?

I think Kobe intentionally kicked his legs out to possibly draw a foul.

But I don't think he intentionally meant to hit Tony Allen in the neck.

Also, this line:

But he kicked me in my neck and it is what it is.

leads me to believe he's not saying Kobe intentionally meant to hit his neck, just that he did kick him.

Kobe totally knew Tony Allen was going to fall as he went up for a shot. You can just tell.

I didn't think it was intentional when I saw it live. Lifting his knee up at the end seems suspicious though. This thread's gonna end up being a hater vs homers thread.

For a team that is supposedly tough, the Celtics are sure doing a lot of crying and whining to the media.

Kobe is a black belt in Jeet Kun Do (Bruce Lee). Tony, if he wanted to kick you in the neck, you would be dead.

If kobe meant to do that, he's like **** jet lee

has the concentration to take a shot, and do a no look kick to the jugular, that's impressive.

His neck got in the way of Kobe's foot lol

I'm sure he intentionally tried to kick TA in the neck while releasing a deep 3 in the NBA finals, makes sense. Why not

Lets be honest, Kobe, on multiple occasions has initiated contact with players around him while shooting jumpers and upon a closer look, it always look like a very unnatural movement on his part.

He got suspended for it a few seasons back.

Fisher and Kobe, that Lakers backcourt, are very sneaky dirty players..but whatever, more power to them. If they get away with it they must think it gives them some sort of edge or upper hand. They've won a lot so maybe it does.

If this was Ray Allen I would be furious, but since this is Tony Allen... no names have no right to complain.

The top of his foot hit him, not the toe... It looks to me like he raised his knee to keep his balance from Tony falling into him.

In fact, at 0.43 you can see that Tony tried to swipe his foot with his right hand as he was falling. His hand goes all down Kobe's left leg and turns him sideways in the air. That's why his knee looks like it raised.

Foul on Allen and incidental contact on the neck.

Illegal screen on Bynum though... Maybe Rivers has a point.

God the Celtics and their fans have been such softie whiners this whole series. Yeah, Kobe kicks noggins and shoots deep 3's while barely beating the shotclock. Such focus.

I hope it was on purpose, if the Celtics are undercutting him on every jumpshot, then I hope Tony got the message, "Don't go down there." -Kobe Bryant's foot.

Extremely strange motion, never really seen someone do that with their feet on a shot. If it was someone else I'd say "strange coincidence," but this is Kobe, who has a history of intentionally striking people with follow throughs on jumpers.

Also, LOL at Bynum's screen.
