Mock Drafts

Post#1 » by Ruben Douglas » Thu Jan 17, 2008 10:39 pm

I don't know if this goes against any of the forums rules (if it is feel free to delete), but I figure that this would be a good place to post some mock drafts that people generally look at. Here is one from a site that I go to quite often and has some of the best information, whether you agree with the mock draft or not.

Here is another one I stumbled across that uses some sort of technological matrix to predict picks. It goes through 5 rounds. Here is who they have the Bears taking.

14. Brian Brohm QB Louisville
45. Anthony Collins OT Kansas
76. Ray Rice RB Rutgers
91. Michael Hamlin SS Clemson
107. William Moore FS Missouri
137. Cliff Avril OLB Purdue

If we take Felix Jones with our first pick. I will murder Jerry Angelo in his sleep. I mean at least take Mendenhall or Stewart.

draftek's old mock draft had us taking an O-liner in the first, Braum in the second, and Steve Slaten in the third. My dream draft.

If it goes that way, we're right in between two OTs, I would hope we take at least one or the other...

I want Ray Rice in the 3rd round too

Man I really hope we don't go offensive line at all in the draft. Just don't trust our staff. Last draft, we drafted a OL man we sent home before camp was over and our big 3rd rounder didn't see the field. I shudder to think what Angelo and Lovie would see in an OT that they'd pick in the first round. Stick with what you know guys. Go defense defense defense. Then shore up the O-line, and wide receiver in free agency.

I don't know. The last time was a long time ago, and the staff probably has changed. Now, I think if Clady falls to us, then we would have to take him because some people claim he's even better than Jake Long. Essentially it would be BPA, and people would look at us weird if we didn't pick him up. Now if came to Baker or Otah, then I don't know maybe. But seriously, how wrong can you get that you have to blame the coaching staff for picking the player?

We better not draft Brian Brohm at number 14. I have no faith at all whatsoever that he'll pan out to be an average NFL QB (let alone above average). GET RASHARD MENDENHALL! Or some elite RB. F the cap!
Also, get Joe Flacco at QB. Tall, agile/mobile, and strong arm. Plus he left PITT and that nincompoop Wanstedt, thats saying something! ;)

I don't know man, the fact that he played for Wanstedt might be reason enough to stay as far away from the guy as possible.

I have heard a couple times that Flacco has played his way into the high second round and even possibly the low first round. Some scouts even put him right behind Matt Ryan as the number 2 QB prospect.

By all accounts, I think it is starting to look more and more likely that a QB could fall to the Bears with their 2nd round pick. Just please don't pick Henne or Brennan, those guys are going to suck.

I enjoyed the article as it is probably the only one that I've seen say Flacco sucks and we should pick Flynn or Johnson(San Diego) instead. Interesting read.

New update from NFLDraftCountdown.

Round 1: Ryan Clady OT
Round 2: Joe Flacco QB

They have Woodson being drafted by Carolina 1 spot before the Bears pick in the 2nd round.

And a lot of Mock Drafts out there have the Bears taking Henne in the second round as well.

Who would you rather have, Woodson, Henne, or Flacco?

In order:
1) Woodson
2) Flacco
3) Henne

As a Michigan/Illinois fan I watched a lot of Michigan games this season and Henne is about as consistent as Rex Grossman and I don't see him have a good career in the NFL. On Flacco, I didn't get to see him play on TV this year but I have heard nothing but good things on him and some think he is the best QB in this draft. I compare Andre Woodson to David Garrard. Both have decent arms and great speed. I think Woodson is going to have a great career in the NFL.

And just so you guys know Darth Celtic had this posted in that stickied thread:

This site is amazing. It has 182 different mock draft websites.

Woodson is slow.

Brohm or Ryan or bust IMO for QBs in this draft.
