Upgrade Gomes with: Pablo Aguilar

Wiretap states he is staying in the draft. Comes from Spain at 6'8" 210lbs, recently converted SF Pablo Aguilar. Aguilar is considered a smart player, who possess much more athleticism than Gomes ever dreamed about. Shoots wonderfully from deep, although he seems to be off balance a lot. Brewer can teach him alllll about why that's bad. He seems to have a step quick enough to keep the defense honest and has some slashing ability. His best attribute is his body, with his original position being PF he will definitely be big enough to muscle up the LeBrons and Melos of the world. Will be avail at the early first, more likely we just trade for him since their is no point in reaching with all our liquid assets. Heck we could prolly even trade Gomes for the pick needed.

Can he guard SFs?

What is the probability of him actually being an upgrade over Gomes? Seems like a long shot.

I don't know about this Pablo guy, but basketball highlights definitely need more Lionel Richie-esque background music.

I doubt these are answers you could get from the extremely casual followers of the Euroleague that likely frequent this board. Probably 75% of my knowledge on him comes from DX, with 25% coming from YouTube and other draft sites.

I'd say only very few to the first, and uh... 20% to the second.

He has never played as SF and i doubt he can ever be succesful as a full time SF.

I don't know Patterson and haven't seen enough of Griffin to tell.
Aguilar is a PF with range up to 3 pt in the mold of Garbajosa, i don't think he has the mobility to guard SFs.

Players like Aguilar and Claver are really overrated by Draftexpress hype. A guy like Carlos Suarez is much better than they are.
