Question about Parking for Sunday's game

Post#1 » by chatard5 » Sat Jan 19, 2008 5:36 am

Hello. I am a huge fan of the Packers from Indianapolis. I am going to Green Bay on Sunday. Unfortunately I cannot afford a ticket, but I figured it would be a lot of fun to tailgate and hang out in Green Bay. All the good tailgate parking is reserved for season ticket holders, correct? I am actually handicapped and was trying to park there. Do you know if it costs any money for this parking, and are there many spots? Would they care if I am not going to the game or do I have to have a ticket? Also, if you have any extra tickets you are looking to sell let me know!!

Thanks a lot and go Pack!!!

1. How many people are you going with and are you in a wheelchair? If you aren't in a wheelchair and can sit in a regular seat, you MIGHT be able to score a few tickets up there. With as cold as it will be, my guess is there will be some folks who feel the cold and say screw it. The wise thing would be to put signs in your car window saying you need tickets and make a need tickets sign you can hold in your hand.

2. If i was you and if you don't want to look for tickets, i'd hit one of the many surrounding bars by the stadium and watch the game. They should be packed with fans for a great atmosphere and as a bonus, you'll stay warm.

3. If you don't like option 1 or 2 and want to just park in the lot and tailgait, you don't need tickets to park in the lot that i know of, you just gotta pay the parking fee which i think is 25 dollars. I've never been with a group where we parked in the lot so i'm not 100% sure, we always park in one of the yards by the stadium for 10-15 bucks and walk when we are ready. I highly highly doubt though if you want to park in the lot that you'd need to show game tickets, i've never been asked to show tickets before parking at any sort of sporting event i've attended.

That lot will fill fast though and fans arrive early to party, don't show up at 4:00-4:30 and expect to cruise in easily to a nice close parking spot in the lot. I forget how many spots the lot holds, but it's not such a huge lot that anyone can eventually get a spot, it fills up.

One more thing about getting there early enough to get a spot you want. Expect to be in a line exiting the freeway and a sizable line to get in the lot if that's where you want to park.

parking at Lambeau probably won't happen.

you can park in various lots (churches and businesses) around Lambeau

bathrooms are scarce, especially if you are handicapped

I might recommend a ticket to a tailgate party...

you can get tickets (expensive) through them too

Good tailgate at Brett Favre's steakhouse. $25 all you can eat and drink. It's outside of course.

Good info about Packer games here:

I would love to be there but I'm watching this one at home.
