If we could move Barbososo......

Post#1 » by Frank Lee » Sat Jun 12, 2010 12:55 pm

Yeah.... right

I am getting so tired of any post that begins with or contains 'If we can move Barbs... just dump barbs ... trade Barbosa and ...."

Come on

There has not been deal presented that would work ... makes sense... or is even remotely approved by the opposing boards.

Lets just wish for LeBron, and for Stat to sign at the Vet minimum, for Cotton to come back.... jeezus.

F-n 5th graders and sometimes DirtyDez have had more sense and realistic opinions. it just aint happening. I have no probs with keeping him because... well, what choice do we have ? Better to get him playing at the level we need, improve his value, then see. Right now, we'd get hosed in any deal.

There is no, zero, nada desire for him and his 14 mill for the next 2. He is as one dimensional as Amare-me and has even less BB IQ. The phones aren't ringing for the Brazilian Blurb. He's like the housing market.... 3 yrs ago he was at peak price.... now, hes a short sale.

Wake TFU

Try your fantasy land trade proposal out on the big board and see what happens.

Seriously.

I agree but not because he's unmoveable but because I think he's better served if he stayed on our team to at least build value before we do anything with him. For example, I think the Kings would consider an LB for Nocioni deal, but that deal obviously sucks so it's really not worth it and we would be better hoping LB would make a comeback anyway.

Hedo for Barbosa + filler

Hedo would thrive under Nash.

Please? :)

Hedo has been a$$ this season with Toronto. He needed a team that covers him defensively to really shine, we're not that team. Also, he's a tad expensive.

I know I watched about 70 of the suns games this season. I'm 50% a suns fan 50% a raps fan. (ok, maybe more of a Nash fan because I'm Canadian but nontheless I've been watching the Suns since the JJ days)

Hedo does a number of things very well but I couldn't' believe the contract BC gave him, and now that it didn't work and he's said he'd like to be moved, who would want his deal except in trade for a worse one? They may have to trade for ECurry to move Hedo

4 yrs remaining and $9mil per year - hurst just to read it

I do think the flap about his "partying" was a load of crap - there was a very innocent and well backed up explanation for the incident.

He's a great $6mil player getting paid $9mil

Barbosa has been the same player ever since he was a rookie. He's never improved on any part of his game. Get rid of him!!!!!!!!

LB hasn't really improved much of his game at all and probably won't but when his game is on, he's exactly what we need. There's no reason to move him unless there's a deal actually worth considering such as a salary dump for a TPE or for a player we need. I have confidence LB will make a solid comeback next season.

Probably can't be moved for capspace but maybe Barbosucks can be moved for a one year deal or at least a player that plays a different position.

No he's not exactly what we need. He used to be that guy but he's redundant in this Suns team

The guy is good off of the bench. He had a wrist injury, give the guy a break. LB is LB and like some of you said, when he is on, he is on.

Frank made a funny.

I know loyalty shouldn't be used in these situations but i don't think they'd deal LB unless a great package was returning. The guy was drafted here, barely speaks english and would probably melt-down if he moved to a different city/team. He's had some traumatic family issues and is probably fragile mentally.

That doesn't make up for his crappy play, we'll keep him and hope he comes back healthy next year to make a positive impact.

He should be happy to just be in the NBA, if that happens to anyone with a real job who only performed half the time or did half baked work would have been fired by now. Someone in this organization needs the balls to stand up and say tough luck you're being traded because it benefits the Suns organization. There should be no loyalty in any organization, companies do what's best for them just like what the Suns should do that's best for them which is trading him.

Actually he is exactly what we need off the bench. In case you haven't noticed our bench lacks guys who can create his own shot and off the dribble. Only Dragic is competent at that right now. If LB comes back to be the primary scorer off the bench then it'll be like getting something of a JJ lite next to a ball dominant Nash. It takes pressure off Dragic trying to create everything for the 2nd unit.

His mom passed away in 2009 and he had a wrist injury, what you expected? Wait for the World Championship in august and see what player he can be.

Yeah, he is still a dynamic scoring threat off the bench that is quite useful. He may be a little overpaid now due to the emergence of Dudley and Dragic but he isn't dead weight. Only way I'd trade Barbosa is if Amare walks and they can move him to get additional cap or if he could fetch a quality front court player.

I like barbs as a person, but 7 million off the bench in a diminished role is rolling into Doris Diaw territory.

^^ exactly, it makes it even look more worse if you look at our roster:

guard rotation: nash - jrich - dragic - barbosa in dollars: 13 m / 13 m / 1.8 m / 6.6 m
forward rotation: ghill / jared / pearl
pf: ama´re / ??
center: lopez / ??

we have realy other needs to have this luxus on the guards. and no one ( ok dragic can ) can defend. that sucks. realy. j-rich and nash realy works good together, dragic is the future, so the only one left is barbs. he needs to step up his game or should be traded.

Props to the great one
