Did you make any insinuations regarding the promiscuity of any females in his immediate family?

Wanted to point that line out from the Wojo article....

I wonder what possible S&T's there could be? Has Deng, picks, and filler already been discussed?

"Nevertheless, Izzo returned from his Thursday visit to Cleveland impressed with the Cavaliers’ top basketball executives, general manager Chris Grant and assistant GM Lance Blanks, sources say. Izzo has listened to the Cavaliers’ rebuilding scenarios for the team should James leave, including possible sign-and-trade scenarios that could keep the franchise from completely bottoming out."

Byron Scott is trying to use the Lakers job as leverage against the Cavs. Looks like he's trying to pull the same offer out of Gilbert that was made to Izzo.

Being told Cavs players - yes, including that one - are less than thrilled by the process and overall direction post Ferry and Brown.

Things have gone south pretty quickly for the cavs, and lebron has yet to rescue them. I'm starting to believe he's gone.

Cavs coaching search seems close to unraveling. Izzo uncertain, Scott thinking twice, now Woodson and Shaw in mix. Bird in hand... http://twitter.com/samickFanHouse

One more thing sources say Izzo's trying to gauge about chances to re-sign MVP: Who in organization has strong relationship with LeBron?

Out of all the names mentioned for the Cavs in the last few pages, they couldn't go wrong with coach Wooden. LeBron wouldn't turn a legend down.

It's the most logical way to read their coaching search unraveling.

Vinny might be in the mix by this time next week.

Tom Thibodeau is a top assistant in the NBA, who is the mastermind of the some of the top defenses in the NBA in the past 10 years. In addition, he has one NBA championship ring, and in on his way to a second NBA championship ring.

What has Tom Izzo done in the NBA. Jack. Nada. Tom Izzo best case scenario is a Scott Skiles, and his other scenarios are the likes of college failures in the NBA. Scott Skiles would smoke Tom Izzo butt in X and O in any day of the week.

Both guys are unproven are head coaches in the NBA. But, I would wager that Tom Thibodeau would get more respect from guys like Kobe, LBJ, and KG than some overrated college coach. If Tom Izzo goes to the NBA, he will fail.

If you want to argue against history, name me a college coach who has made a successful transition to the NBA in the past 20 years.

I feel bad for Cavs fans. This looks like a train wreck. Of course, the Bulls looked like a train wreck 10 weeks ago and now look like they are sitting pretty. Things change quickly. Regardless, as others are noting, Cleveland is giving away its edge.

Yeah, but again, things really can change quickly. Last Wednesday heathmalc posted an unverified news story--later refuted-- claiming that Izzo would definitely be signing with the Cavs. At that point the few Cav fans on their board felt pretty darned good about their chances of retaining Lebron. Now, a few days later, things are in disarray. But if Izzo accepts or if they get Brian Shaw, who has played in the NBA and can run the triangle, I could see them feeling in control again. They still need to make a significant trade, IMO. We shall see.

But Brown had coached successfully in the NBA before coaching in college, so he really didn't have to make a transition to the NBA after his collegiate national championship.

I'm really pleased that we're not heading into free agency without a head coach. I just felt like the longer we went without one, the less organized we looked. I don't believe any of the free agents want to handpick their head coach, or would find a situation attractive where a team was holding off on hiring a coach before attempting to sign a free agent. Not only do the Cavs not have a head coach, they haven't found a GM, either. The longer Izzo drags this out, the more it looks to me like he doesn't exactly find the situation ideal, but the money is too much to ignore. Part of this is my Bulls bias, but another part is my gut feeling.

Name a college coach that didn't take a **** job on a rebuilding team in the last 20 years. Its about the talent far more than the coaching. I can also make a long list of NBA coaches failing in the NBA in the last 20 years because they were saddled with hot garbage.

This argument - which sadly is emphasized by superficial media analysis as well - is strikingly akin to the "pfft, Garnett isn't a winner and can't close" arguments so popular a few years ago. Talent trumps. Give Izzo LeBron and a comparable roster, and it stays a 60 win team.

I know this wasn't the point you were making, but it really hit the nail on the head for me. It's about talent far more than the coaching. This is why throwing $30mil at Izzo isn't going to convince Lebron to stay. If he stays, it's probably a combination of both feeling that he can win in Cleveland, and loyalty.

Its hard to know what Izzo could mean to LeBron. All indications - including generic reports, but more importantly Izzo's indecision - suggest that landing Izzo does not yield LeBron. I never thought it would. Could it help a little? Possible. Hard to say.

The issue for me was always that if Izzo does sign, its the canary in the coal mine for everyone but Cleveland. But now I'm not even convinced of that.

Anyway, back to my original point to PlayoffRose: Did the fabled, revered Mike D'antoni become a college-to-NBA coach before Denver, and then do it again before going to New York? He's had three NBA coaching gigs. Two with bad teams, and a he was an abject failure. One with a legendary point guard and star-studded roster and he was a success.

There are a small handful of coaches that can turn chicken **** into chicken salad (none that can make it chicken kiev). Outside of that, talent dictates far more than where you coached your last job.

Not true, actually his first job was a college job for a month  then he made his first successful transition to the ABA
