Dynasty League: Ellis for 2nd overall 2010 pick?

Post#1 » by TheExpat » Sat Jun 12, 2010 6:00 am

I'm having trouble making a decision on this one....

My team:
PG: Jose Calderon (PG), Mike Bibby (PG), Shawn Livingston (PG)
SG: Leandro Barbosa (SG), Jerryd Bayless (PG/SG), Jarret Jack (PG/SG), Sonny Weems (SG)
SF: Luol Deng (SF), Yi Jianlian (SF/PF)
PF: Amare Stoudamire (PF/C), Carl Landry (PF), Brandon Wright (PF)
C: Yao Ming (C), Tim Duncan (PF/C) Jermaine O'Neal (PF/C)

Taxi Squad (4 max): Brandon Rush, Demar DeRozan, Donte Greene, Mboute

I have to clear roster to bring guys up and my taxi is full.

THE TRADE:

I trade: Barbosa (SG), 2nd overall 2010 (Turner), and the 22nd overall pick

I receive: Ellis (PG/SG), 8th overall pick and 10th overall pick, and the 4th waiver pick at season start.

I like my bigs although I'm thin at SF. My guard situation could go any way depending on where Livingston ends up, and if one of Jack/Calderon is traded. I like Ellis' versatility there, and this is a no turnover league.

If Bosh leaves, I will probably bring up DeRozan (drop Weems/Wright/Bibby), then drop Mboute. These moves make room for 8 and 10 on my taxi. I also have to make room for my waiver picks (1 and 4... hoping for Splitter to come over or Amir Johnson to replace Bosh).

If I make the trade, I would hope to draft 2 of Aldrich (Monroe will be gone at 8), Henry, Whiteside.

So... thoughts?

Hard to see the downside here. Looks like the other guy is a big believer in Turner.

Done.

Thanks for the confidence boost guys. The guy I traded with now has picks 1,2 and 4 in the rookie draft and is looking to add Wall, Turner, and W. Johnson... exciting rookie crop there for him. Last season he traded Granger and his trash for 4 first rounders (15 team league).

Now what to do with 8 & 10... I have an offer for 10... 19 and a first rounder next year... think I will do that too (I have almost as much faith in a Willie Warren or Larry Sanders as I do in a Henry or Whiteside)

I'll pull the trigger on 19+1st for 10 and then draft Aldrich at 8 and James Anderson at 19
