ATL/LAC & ATL/TOR

Post#1 » by FCNATL85 » Mon Jun 14, 2010 3:30 am

our priorities for this summer:
1) draft a big
2) S&T Chill and get best return possible
3) get rid of Bibby using return from Chill as incentive (probably the most important one with resigning JJ)
4) resign JJ
5) sign a back-up PF

1) Draft Alabi or Seraphin

2) Chil + rights to Akyol + 53 for LAC 12 1st

3) Bibby + LAC 12 1st for Jack (or any decent, fairly young with manageable salary PG out there to compete with Teague for PT).

4) Resign JJ

5) Sign FA Gooden (and Siler if we do not keep Morris).

This way we keep the core but improve slightly at our deficient point: PG w/ Jack and JT improved playing time and adding a defensive C prospect with Alabi

Jack- Teague- JC
JJ- JC- Mo
Marvin- Mo-JJ
Smoothe- Al- GoodenAl- Zaza- Alabi or Seraphin- Siler or Morris

The Clippers would only do step 2 if they thought the Hawks would match a Childress offer sheet for more than the MLE.

True so maybe it would be worth putting Marv there for future pick and keep Chill as a starting SF.

Do you think that MEM and POR would do that:

Conley to ATL

Miller & POR #22 & ATL #53 to MEM

Bibby & MEM #12 & ATL future 1st to POR

Gambling that Conley is on a learning curve that will speed up with a better team.

Why this fascination with utterly mediocre point guards? If we're dumping Bibby we might as well start Teague.

Refresh your memory. Marvelous produces better offensively and is much, much, much better defensively. Childress is a better ball-handler and offensive rebounder.

Too many much's, he's not that much better defensively, Childress is an infinitely better offensive rebounder as you stressed and i think is a much more assertive player. A lot better ball-handler also.

I think he actually fits the team a lot better.

Marvelous is one of the few human beings on the planet who can be left on LeBron James, to defend him one-on-one. Childress could never do that.

Childress is a 2.2 career offensive rebounder and Marvelous is 1.5 - in almost identical minutes played. Are you sure that makes Childress an "infinitely better" offensive rebounder?

Sure, Childress looks good playing in Greece but ...
