Looking at the Celtics...

Post#1 » by sunskerr » Tue Jun 15, 2010 1:09 am

If we had beaten the Lakers...do you think we could defeat these Celtics that we've seen in the finals? I thought so initially, but watching them play, I don't think we could. They're legit, even though they're punks, they're very good. So no, I don't think we could beat them anymore. I'd have my belief as a fan that we could, so my heart would say yes, but my head would say no.

Oh and their bench reminds me of our bench.

Tough but we could do it. Lakers were just a much worse matchup for us I think.

Celts in 5. KG/Perk/Baby would murder us on the boards.

No we couldn't.

Rondo is too fast for Nash. Nash will have a lot of turnovers.
J-Rich will most likely leave Ray Allen wide open most of the time, no matter how hard he tries.
Hill/Dudley will play good defense on Pierce, but Pierce will still score, pass.
Amare won't have too much luck with Garnett the way Amare has been playing.
Perkins = Lopez
Rasheed is basically Frye with defense and a post up game
Dragic will own nate robinson
Big Baby will be too strong for Lou
Tony Allen will play great D, Barbosa will turn the ball over

The series would have been all about who scores the most points, you would think it would go in the Suns favor but they do have guys that can score on any given night.

That's a tough one. Initially I would have thought that we would have had a good chance. But now, I'm not 100% convinced. I think we could have really taken it to them. But they are able to really fall back on D and seem to be quite disciplined.

Would have been a fun series.

I don't know what you guys are talking about... I think it'll be great series, but I don't think they'll beat us. Celtics are only beating the Lakers because the LA is playing a slow tempo. You really think KG/Perkins/Pierce/BigBABY/Sheed will do well against fast tempo? No way.

If I was LA, I would play the same way they played against us and push that bad boy.

Suns in 6 vs Celtics, too bad we didn't get our shot, because Celtics are not as good as people expect them to be. Lakers are a wayyyy better team, imo.

I think we would be outgunned against the Celts, too, like we were with the lakers. But I think we could give them a good run.

This team just does not have the talent either of the finalsits does. Just what it is - but yeah, I initially thought "if we can get past L.A......."

next year though, if we add some beef and toughen up a bit

I'll just say it would have been a much more entertaining series then Lakers/Celtics. Honestly, every game has been pretty boring.

I thought we'd have a good chance but after watching the C's turn it on, I highly doubt it. They are playing even better than when they played against the Cavs. I also have little doubts their front line will shut Amare down.

The Celtics front line would surely rough up Stoudemire way more than what Gasol could do. Rondo and Nash would have been a highly entertaining matchup for 7 games.
