It might as well have been a win. It was a good result for the team.

Considering Apartheid is basically finished with, they have bigger fish to fry. 3 out of the last 4 Presidents in Africa have been Black. And, with the majority of their country being black, that's not going to change. 80% of that country is infested with AIDS. They have to get on that pronto.

umm ok, that really wasnt the point

the point was how the prisoners made a soccer league with players, refs, administrators and made a consitution too all in practice so that when they got out they would have the ability to do it again....they basically used the time in prisoner to prepare themselves to handle the change once it came....amazing story

So Germany is playing great football and I can't say I could be any more pleased as outside that early corner our defense has done well, we're creating chances and tearing australia apart with our passing and Poldi and Klose have both already scored more than they did in the Bundesliga...okay that was hyperbole but seriously, these two were not playing nearly this well for Koeln and Bayern.

Brunson: So what are you paid to do?

still cant figure this out

as for the match no contest germany looked a little rugged @ the start of both halfs but were dominating Australia for the rest of the 80 something minutes.....Considering that they are the youngest team in the WC it looked like they were playing with each other for a while now, chemistry is great, passing was awesome, Klose had a few chances that should of been put in....Ozil is awesome i hope Liverpool get him.....Now id like to see if this is a indication of how good germany is or just how **** Australia is

Liverpool dont have nearly enough money to sign someone of Ozil's caliber.

Both Poldi and Klose have been awful this year, so while they may not have outscored their Bundesliga totals yet, they have certainly played way better than they have all year. With Klose I think it's because his age has finally caught up with him but he's got enough in the tank for one final run in the National kit. With Poldi I think it's just because he showed up at a time where Germany didn't exactly have talented young players flooding the side the way we do now, so he got overhyped and thought he truly was Prince Poldi and so didn't have to play as hard for Bayern, his first time around with Koeln before he broke out for the naitonal team he was a beast and singlehandedly carried that team. He's just never played with that same intensity and focus in the Bundesliga since he earned the name Prince Poldi.

Germany have been playing beautiful football for a while, we've just been lacking in the finishing department and hopefully that has settled itself. as for Ozil I think he'll be at Werder for a while, they just made bank selling Diego and unless they get a ridiculous offer for Ozil they'll keep the Marin/Ozil partnership together for at least a couple of years. I mean they've held onto Mertesacker who may lack top pace, but he's been a world class defender for years, pity he's the only man in that defense worth a damn otherwise Werder would be a CL team.

well b4 the WC hit rumors were Liverpool were going to make their one big offer for him, hes overpricing himself atm though , if Liverpool are given money from the possibility of selling Torres and Gerrard then they should have enough, but your right on the Diego thing they made money from Juventus, but today many players request to be transferred in order to make the next step....Mertsacker is a nice player hes dominant in the air, and little slower than your average sizebut thats obviously attributed to his size........after today you know what player i hate and think is crap, Mario Gomez, im obviously not judging him from just this game, he was a big flop @ Euro '08, and hasnt been worth his price range Bayern paid for him, idk something about that dude irks me

anyways Germany have looked the best of outta all the teams that have played so far....they really jsut have the right mind-set their basically guaranteed a quarterfinals spot in just about every tourney they compete in....i dont think they will win this WC but they should be favorites in '14 but @ the same time they will have to cross Brazil, who will be hosting the event :S

I really think Ozil's happy at Werder because that's home to him in a way it never could be for Diego. Plus he's still incredibly young and is going to be playing in the Uefa Cup with Marko Marin who very well may end up one of his national team partners for a long time to come.

Merte's also got a great feel for the game and he makes some tackles that you don't want him trying but he pulls the ball out so well with those long legs that it's just ridiculous sometimes.

Gomez is awful, he has everything you want from an elite striker except for touch and thus a nose for the goal. He's big, strong and can run, but he's just not very skilled, in fact I'd much rather have Keissling out there than Gomez.

Antoher Stuttgart product who disappointed me was Sami Khedira, he made some good runs and did well deep in the midfield, but he doesn't have the same eye for the net and timing that Ballack has and that cost him at least one goal I really hope he improves as the tourney progresses.

I would love nothing more than for us to beat Brazil in Brazil, my dream is actually for us to win this year so we can go to Brazil and try and tie their World Cup total on their home soil. As long as our finishing holds up this team creates a lot of chances and most everyone does a good job of getting back and tracking opposing players. Arne Friedrich to me is the biggest question mark, he's smart, but painfully slow and can really be taken advantage of by top players, but his intelligence on the field could keep our young team from getting to wrapped up in the moment and failing to execute.

Why so much hype behind Danny? He's looked terrible so far. Subbing him out for Simao was way overdue

Don't follow soccer besides the world cup, so why isn't Ronaldinho playing for Brazil?

Speaking the truth Ronaldinho plays more defense than Kaka or Robinho. He has simply been out of shape since his last year at Barçelona. He has just had a positive season, but his exclusion is no brainer. Not choosing Pato bothers me more, actually
