If one of Greene/Casspi pans out, Cousins stays motivated, and Tyreke improves his jumper, that team is a playoff contender next year and well on its way to being a championship contender down the road. Come on Kahn make it happen!

good one :D

wait...

you're serious? :o

How would it not be? You do realize that the Boston Celtics aren't going to be in the league forever? Neither is Kobe. THe Lakers will have to rebuild one day. Of course the Lakers rebuilding years are always shorter than any team in the league, but still they have a down 3+ years themselves at times.

With Tyreke Evans a guy who could become the best PG in the league and DeMarcus Cousins who could be a top 2 Center in the league, how in the world would they NOT be championship contenders?

Wow...

This is why i do my best to bring people back down to earth a bit. If their team really really needs a position, the fans just go crazy hyping a prospect. Everybody does their 'figuring' about the future of their team with the best case scenarios being fulfilled. with all of their prospects... doesn't usually work that way.

Cousins is a prospect. Who's only experience is playing against shrimps. He's about to play in the NBA with men... big, tested, skilled, and proven men. You can't plan your future around them so easily. Most of the time, super over-hyped guys turn out to be just average players. Keep an open mind with their development. Don't put them in the HoF before they play against their first NBA big.
Will you fools ever realize that when the cameras are on and the microphones are hot, they are Lying to you! Lying to illicit a prescribed reaction, to easier manipulate you.

Pistons getting him at 7 would be a complete steal for them.

Teams may not even be stupid enough to pass on Cousins to let him fall to 5 so it may be a moot point, I'm not saying it's a lock. It's all speculation and projection, Im guessing I'm saying how can someone deny the potential of what Evans and Cousins have.

As far as the size upgrade, Cousins wasn't playing in High School last year he played in a respectable conference.

And even though it's an upgrade it's not like he's going from being bigger to everybody to small or average for his position.

At 6'11 290 pounds Cousins is actually the BIGGEST Center in the NBA. Even bigger than Dwight HOward. Heck even LONGER than Dwight Howard. Yet despite his size he could again be arguably the MOST SKILLED center in the league.

A guy like Cousins could absolutely dominate at that position and easily be a top 2 Center. And in fact on paper he could challenge Dwight Howard for best Center in the game because although Howard is significantly more athletic, Cousins should be significantly more skilled.

That may sound ridiculous but keep in mind this is the weakest era ever in NBA history at that position.

Minnesotta passing on Cousins is like screwing another draft. I like to see Evans-Cousins combo in Sacramento.

It's such a great fit that it's probably not going to happen. Hopefully Philly takes him or something. Anywhere but Minnesota. UGH

Hopefully the 6ers take him at #2.
I want him here so we have somebody to stomp the little guys like Ewing used to do like Howard deos now.
Watching the Lakers I repeatedly see Gasol-Bynum go over other players backs and get rebounds. 6ers would finally have somebody that could combat against that.
Playing small and scrappy is cool and all but champions win with Defense and Big men.

Also looking forward to the Cousins vs Favors in NJ matchup.
Make them respond to your way of playing not the other way around

Cousins could be like Charles Barkley, only 5 inches taller. Yes, he has a mean streak and a bad attitude. That's going to be bad news for everyone else.

Cousins curently weights 292 at 16% body fat, you know what that's incredible. Most guys his size that would weigh that much would be much closer to 20% body fat. Put it this way if cousins gets down to 280lbs he will be at 12% body fat that's right around the top of the body fat curve for a guy his size to be consider in great shape. Thats only 12lbs to lose 4% body fat I think he could do that pretty well.

I think in the end after all is said and done he turns out to be bigger more defensively inclined Al Jefferson which turns out to be a fantastic player.

I hope he falls to the kings, because he's just what we need in the post. he would finish out our big man rotation rather well.

Word is Sacramento would take Greg Monroe over Cousins if both are on the board. So, maybe that dynasty will have to be put on hold.

That is the draft lottery version of Shaq and Kobe. Because if they are your 2 best players, you will take part in a lot of draft lotteries.

Tyreke Evans is easily the most overrated young player in the league.

How so?

Majority of Kings fans don't overrate Evans.

It's more like the non-Kings fans are hyping him up the most.

Unless you personally know Petrie, there is no one outside of Petrie's office knows what the Kings are going to do.

....

But just letting you know, if Cousins is available, we are likely to choose him according to an individual that literally sits by Petrie during every workout. 8-)

EDIT: I'm not the individual that sits with Petrie btw (if someone had that notion). But I followed the Kings organization thoroughly in terms of:

-Tendencies
-Processes
-Actions

I analyzed the Kings during the pre-draft phase critically for the past couple of years.
