Heh, I'm not affiliated with the Kings. I just posted the videos directly from YouTube. I'm only a fan of the Kings. A very persistent one. 8-)

DeMarcus Cousins Interview:

Derrick Favors Interview:

Interesting Note:

In his interview, Cousins says that he measured out at 14% body fat and that they must have "rounded up." :dontknow:

So according to Cousins, I guess it was Favors' camp that wouldn't allow Favors and Cousins to go 1 on 1 in the workout.

I think people are making too much of Cousins' body fat%. Kaman came in at like 16%.
I'm more interested in seeing what Pittman ends up doing in terms of future weight gain. Because he's the one teams should be worried about.

Or DeMarcus' agent just didn't inform him.

I doubt either agent wanted them going at each other.

True, both are pretty much guaranteed to go in the top 5, so why hurt their draft value and go 1 on 1 against each other?

Also, both have little to gain. Favors if he's there likely is a no brainer, and Cousins camp thinks the same thing. However, both feel the need to compete for the number three pick, so they'll go head to head at New Jersey.

They both looked really good there. I especially liked Favors' high release on his jump shot.

Yep.

It's good to see that they have the capabilities to shoot at that range. But I'm more impressed of Cousin's range than Favors' though.

Both of them looked good shooting from range, but Cousins looks way bigger than Favors. Or at least he did in the video

Cousins is way bigger than Favors.

6'11", 290 pounds, a 9'5" standing reach, and 7'6" wingspan vs. 6'10", 245 pounds, 9'2" standing reach, and 7'4" wingspan.

It's not a big deal, though, because they play different positions. Cousins is a pure Center and Favors is a Power Forward who should be able to play spot minutes at the 5.

Like how quick Cousins' release is.

For all the love muscular guys get, the strong fat guys always shoot way better than strong muscle guys.

BTW I don't necessarily disagree.
Just wanted to do the 'dis here Karl Malone' thing. :P

Funny how a short little workout clip can so accurately display the differences between these two - Favors is a much better leaper, Cousins is much bigger, smoother, and far more skilled. I knew Cousins had perimeter skills from the bits and pieces I saw of him pre-Kentucky, but even still I was impressed by his jumper, which looks real nice. I can't help but feel that Cousins is going to be MUCH better than Favors if he can stay focused, motivated and in shape. I feel like he could be sort of like Zach Randolph in terms of scoring and rebounding talent, but in a much bigger body, which would really be an excellent player, while Favors just screams "solid player, but not a star" to me.

I hope Cousins can stay motivated and stay in shape, he has all-star written all over him if he takes care of himself.
