Sign Anthony Morrow
Sign Anthony Morrow, preferably in a sign-and-trade scenario with Leandro Barbosa on his way out. He is a restricted free agent with the Warriors this season and is probably the best shooter available, especially considering how much we can sign him for. The kid can flat out shoot the ball. Plus, he is young and would fit in nicely with the Suns young core coming off the bench and could be the two guard of the future Suns core (Dragic-Morrow-Dudley-Clark-Lopez). His per-36 minutes stats are 16.0 points on 46.8 FG% and 88.6 FT%, 2.0 threes on 45.6 3PT%, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.3 blocks and 1.5 turnovers. Keep in mind that was only his second season in the NBA, which included a 35 point game, a 33 point game and sixteen 20+ point games. Plus, although it hasn't been proven yet because he has played for Golden State his whole career, he could end up being a decent defender. Imagine his shooting percentages with Nash feeding him open looks; he could be a 50/40/90 shooter!

No way the warriors S&T Barbosa
Morrow doesn't portray the chemistry/high character mentality the Suns really seek

Don't want em. Suns don't need another project right now IMO either.

I'd love him here, he's an amazing shooter and an underrated all around talent
I'd prefer Azubuike over him though, if healthy

I'd only do it if GS offer us an offer we can't refuse for Barbosa.

If we could land Morrow for Barbosa you do it tomorrow.

Anthony Randolph. That guy was built to play for the Suns next to Amare

Re: Sign Anthony Morrow
We had our chance to get Randolph at the deadline a couple years back. We kept Amare and he effed his eye up a few days later. It was a good move to keep him at the time but now we're in a tough spot.
Def on board for Morrow, love his game.

No, he's a one-dimensional shooter who plays no defense. I'd sooner have someone like Redick.

Barbosa is DONE!!!!!! Sign this kid!! A ton of great potential. Anyone who doesn't think so, doesn't know the game of basketball.

Re: Sign Anthony Morrow
I also like Kelenna Azuibuike and think he'd be a nice option if we couldn't land Morrow. I think KA has potential to be a great lock-down perimeter defender. He was having a really nice season before he got hurt. I also like the Anthony Randolph suggestion someone else tossed out. AR has incredible potential. I would take any of those three guys for Barbosa without hesitation.
Morrow > Redick
Also, Morrow is not a project. He is a dead-eye shooter that can be plugged in right away. The only question mark for AmMo is his defense and whether he can become a decent defender after playing his first two season for _on Nelson.

Re: Sign Anthony Morrow
I dont see any way Golden State would want Barbosa considering they have Ellis and Curry there already who are basically the same type of players but far superior.
As for Morrow, I think he'd fit in nice here but he'd fit in nice a lot of places.. places with more money to spend... so I doubt we get him.
As far as randolph goes, we already have him on our team but his name is earl clark.

If Boobie Gibson could get close to full MLE, I don't see why Morrow couldn't get the same or more.

Re: Sign Anthony Morrow
Can Morrow drive to the basket as well as LB? If not I don't really want him because we need players that can create shots by cutting and driving to the basket.

Re: Sign Anthony Morrow
I think he's primarily an off-the-ball player. Think of younger Ray Allen but without the slashing ability. He's a pretty poor ball handler which is why he plays mainly off the ball but that also means he won't be getting to the line much because he doesn't get the opportunity to draw contact on a drive. Poor defender at best. Not big or skilled enough to guard the opposing guards. He works hard but he's just not athletic or handles the ball well enough to do a whole lot other than shoot.
From what I've read, he's got pretty good BBIQ and like Dudley, knows his limitations (physically) and uses what he has well. I honestly, find it hard to see him being a starter on most teams unless it's a D'Antoni/Nellie style no-defense all-offense team. I think he'd look good next to a bigger PG/combo guard like Dragic.

Re: Sign Anthony Morrow
I think Morrow is a fine slasher, I just think he isn't good at creating off the dribble. Morrow's athletic, he's just not an intensely explosive athlete. He's got a decent first step and he knows how to use a simple move or two in order to get free but he doesn't have the handles to get by a set defense all that well.
Outstanding set shooter and he moves really well without the ball; it's absurdly difficult to evaluate any kind of defensive ability on Golden State because Nelson is a (Please Use More Appropriate Word), so I wouldn't hold that against Morrow at this time. Of course, Gentry isn't a particularly good defensive coach either, but you have to imagine that with any kind of defensive presence behind him, he'll look a lot better. Remember, even Biedrins only played 23 mpg in 33 games played and he's basically the only significant help defender on the team.
I wouldn't mind having Morrow on the team, personally, but the Suns definitely need to get a replacement for Grant Hill at some point in the near future, and if he happens to be an aggressive dribble penetrator with great athleticism, that would be pretty much ideal.
Having said that, if they luck themselves into any kind of post presence (say in a S+T for Amare, or through the draft, etc), then they can almost negate (or at least delay) the need for a penetrator because they'll still have Nash.

Re: Sign Anthony Morrow
Morrow can make the occasional straight line drive but obviously, he doesn't have the handles to maneuver around a set D as you mentioned. He does well with what he has. Even though he doesn't have the ability to create his own shot, he does well with the one dribble to the side and shoot. Just enough to create some separation and that's really all he needs.
I like Morrow but only as a bench player. I think he's too one-dimensional to be a starter quite frankly.

That seems a sensible description; he's better at getting a pass and making a quick pump fake or change-of-direction move like a jab step and then drive kind of thing. He'd be a much better 6th man than, say, Barbosa, IMO.

Re: Sign Anthony Morrow
I'm not sure if Kyle Korver is a 6th man, but if he is, then I think Morrow can play that role.
