Did we promise Bledsoe he'll be a Pacer?

Post#1 » by Crossova21 » Wed Jun 16, 2010 9:59 pm

10. INDIANA PACERS: Eric Bledsoe, 6-1 192 PG Fr. Kentucky
The Pacers are in need of a point guard because T.J. Ford is not the answer. They are considering taking Ed Davis, but point guard is more of a priority. Avery Bradley and Eric Bledsoe are the two options. The word is that the Pacers may have told Bledsoe they will take him after his workout, thus the reason he hasn't had any workouts since and the Pacers haven't really worked out any candidates for this spot since. The Pacers could trade down to take Bledsoe lower or take a big man, but if they stay at No. 10 Bledsoe looks like the guy.

I didn't know Bledsoe hasn't had any other workouts since the Pacers. Am I reading too much into this? I honestly think Bledsoe could be a steal in the draft. According to Cousins, Bledsoe is a true point guard so maybe he could be a diamond in the rough.

BTW according to wiretaps Lawson is no longer available.

ok so 10th for 16th and 23rd

draft eric bledsoe with 16th and then either brakins or larry sanders then trade murphy and tj.

Idk i like it, but we just keep getting younger and younger each year.

Still Bradley had like 6 workouts B4 he got hurt and Bledsoe's had one and hes not hurt. To Tell u the truth If we get 2 first rounders and draft bledsoe and a PF we got a pretty good lineup

Bledsoe
Rush
Granger
Sander Brakins or Hanbrough
Hibbert

Eric Bledsoe = underrated

Yea I don't think he gets the respect he deserves. Defense at the point guard position is something we haven't had in a while. I think playing behind Wall he wasn't able to show ppl what he can do. If we can trade down and pick him I'm all for it.

On the 16/23 twofer we could probably draft Bledsoe at 23. Leaving us to catch Patterson, Udoh, George, Davis, Babbit, Henry etc.... @16 if one falls.

Two player we want falling is not likely.

I doubt Bledsoe will be available at 23, and I'm not sure he'll be there at 16. I would prefer to take him at 10 and be done with it.

I'm sick of drafting 'safe' picks...I think it's time to draft on potential and hope for the best.

unless we get blown away by a trade offer. ^^^^ Take Bledsoe, he will be a star and we will finally have someone who can create for other people.

I wasn't aware that he'd only had one workout. Very interesting indeed.

Good news! I've been wanting Eric Bledsoe at #10 for the longest time but everyone kept saying we're reaching. The kid has so much potential, and just because he didn't play point guard at Kentucky because John Wall was there doesn't mean that he isn't an NBA point guard. I think the kid is going to be a star point guard, maybe not a top-5 in the league, but top-10 for sure in about two or three years. Can't wait to see what we do on draft night. I would still prefer to trade the #10 for Collison though.

^Yes, and he worked out for the Clippers on June 9. Took about thirty seconds to Google that and the Heat workout. Maybe there've been other workouts too if you want to look a little harder.

I'm thinking thehoopsreport.com is not the most credible source.

Who, after the first 5 picks, is a great "potential" pick? I simply don't see one.

Monroe is a good potential pick, not because he could learn the game but because he already have the skills and he just needs to polish it some more.
"Potential" does not really mean anything at all unless you have the tools to begin with. For this draft, i'd rather have a guy with not much ceiling but with great readiness to play in the pro's.
Anyways, back to the topic. I'd like Bledsoe if we could draft him somewhere in the mid-first round and not with the 10th.

I think Dominique Jones is the only guard in the draft who has the potential to be as good or if not better than John Wall and you can pick him anywhere from the early to late 20's.
