Fernandez for Rubio exchange
It's easy. We trade for Rudy and let Barca negotiate a deal with him then we release Rudy, in return they release Ricky out of his deal and he jumps over the Atlantic to sign with us

I'm no CBA expert, but that sounds like a great way to lose 5 first round picks to me.

5? what the heck are you talking about? yeah sense rubio has done great for us so far..... NOT. he is not as good as people give him credit. in my mind. we lost that first round pick as soon as we drafted him over Curry, DeRozan, Jennings, Collison.. Shall i go on?

This is not an area of the CBA that I've really looked into, but as Europe becomes a greater and greater source of talent, I have always believed that its a flaw that someone will eventually expose, The NBA does a very good job of self-regulating transactions between NBA teams and owners, but with the uniqueness of various owners and teams overseas, an enterprising front office could look to take advantage of the lack of regulation in these types of trades.

Go on over to the Joe Smith deal. that's what he's talking about.

Rubio wants to play in Spain one more year. I'd like to see them both here and happy together. We'd increase are female fan base tenfold.

Stern would have kittens about it and then screw us. I briefly considered this, but I'd rather have Rudy than Rubio come a year early. Hopefully we add some nice pieces, have a great year, deal a PG, and Rubio gladly comes over next summer.

Re: Fernandez for Rubio exchange
The "henk norel" buyout scenario wasn't technically illegal either, but we didn't pursue that one last summer, because Stern obviously was not a fan of it to say the least.

Jennings played fugly in Europe btw.

I still think Jennings is Allen Iverson lite. He won't have much success in the nba. I'd bet with you right here that Jennings will never win an nba title as a top 3 player of his team.

DeRozan was a bust so far and hell Collison was never even considered in the #5 range. So far the only thing we could have done other than drafting Flynn @6 is drafting Curry. And I still think Flynn will be an above average PG in the league. Not an All-star but probably close to.

There really wasn't a better solution than picking Rubio.

Well at least the team found something it would know how to do, right?

Well if everyone says it it must be true, right?
Jennings is nothing close to AI as a player. No one on that team can get their own shot or create shots for others (outside of maybe Bogut). No one on that team can get hot and carry them offensively. There were times when Jennings was told to shoot by Skiles for these very reasons. Many nights Jennings would focus on getting Bogut involved early, getting up maybe one FG (at most) in the process. Of course when people don't actually watch teams/players play and just regurgitate what they hear elsewhere this is what happens.
The only legitimate argument against Jennings as a Wolf is that he was in the perfect situation last season. Him and Skiles get along well and Skiles has had a positive impact on him as a player. The situation here would have been different, and almost certainly not for the benefit of Jennings.
EDIT-I'd also like to point out silly your statement is about him not being a top 3 player on a championship team, seeing as how he was in his rookie year the 2nd most important player on a playoff team. Your implication that he is not a player whose abilities/style lends itself to winning is simply wrong given what has been demonstrated thus far.
Naz Reid.

yeah your right he did... and the one time jennings and rubio played eachother. rubio pooped his pants. like 4 pts. 7 TO. 2 assists. something like that? and one thing we could have done. draft Curry and Flynn with 5 - 6. Rubio = Waste

Really has Rudy that appeal to the american women? I know Ricky is very popular here in Spain among teenagers but never felt that Rudy had that much female fanbase.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.
