Jaroslav Halak traded to St Louis

Post#1 » by sh00n » Thu Jun 17, 2010 7:01 pm

I'm honestly shocked. The only reason I can see this happening is because he wanted way too much cash.

I love Halak for what he helped us do this summer, but he was the bigger meal ticket in terms of bringing something back. Now what St Louis is giving to Montreal, I have absolutely no idea. . .

It's being reported by Mckenzie that neither Montreal nor St.Louis have had ANY contractual talks with Halak.

The amazing thing about the Halak trade is that no contract talks were conducted by MTL or STL with the goalie. Halak has KHL suitors.

I am so friggin' pissed off right now... the upside, Halak wasn't traded to an Eastern team, and we got 2 prospects with size.

The downside... we traded one of the best goalies in the NHL last season for two friggin' prospects! Not even a ROSTER player. Screw you Gauthier...

Umm, yeah, I've seen Lars Eller play a bunch and when he's the main piece of this trade, it's bad.

Carey Price will now be under an insane amount of pressure. If the first couple weeks go bad and Halak's near the top of the league in goalie stats, it will be lolz!

I've liked what I've seen from him. Lot of St Louis fans said they would've rather seen Perron be traded.

The Central is going to be a great division next season.

This looks like a fantastic deal for St. Louis no matter what happens. They didn't give up a roster player and got a 25 year old starting goalie.

One that's going to command an insane salary and file for arbitration too, though.

I like Halak and wish him all the best, but his consistency finally arriving and spinning on his head happened in a contract year. We saw his absolute best this year, and it wasn't good enough. Now he has to try and do that in the West.
