Quick's info mirrors TBPup's. Which can only mean his source is TBPup. Or perhaps Quick is RealGM poster.

So Jason Quick is actually a woman with 3 butt cheeks.

That makes sense.

I'm definitely not in the camp of being "wow'ed" by Iggy. I think he is a nice piece but I would rather stick with Batum because I think Batum will be a better player in the long run.

The guy that I think fits all the criteria that all this talk is generating is Danny Grainger. He is an all-star. He is a great shooter. He can play alongside Roy. If we give up Batum along with others in a package, I would not complain. I like Grainger's game a lot.

Grainger makes sense to me.

Closer as in we are close to make a trade for an all-star? Or did I take that out of context?

I believe that is what he was going for. I couldn't hear the chat as RealPlayer was screwing up and not playing. All I could get was a recap from other people.

You're correct, Duster. I read some comments on Olive forums and apparently Quick says Pritchard is trying to pull a large trade that, in the words of Jason Quick, "would save his job."

Of course this is Quick and he may be fooled by Pritchard for publicity. Either way its fun to speculate and hope.

The thing that would tilt the scales in favor of Iggy in my mind is if there was something else coming along or he was coming at a bargain price. If you are giving up Miller and Przybilla, does that make it worth it?

I agree with Walton's Beard... maybe it is Iggy, but it seems like KP would need to be looking bigger.

I wonder if we're the second half of that deal:

LMA
Pryzbilla
Webster
Rudy

for
#2
Iggy
Brand

The math works after July 1st... Brand is an ex-all star fitting the hints we have been getting from TBPup about KP swinging for the fences... Just because the hint says "all-star" doesn't mean All-Star is the target... Plus the real prize is Iggy & #2...

Leaves us with:

Taking Favors at #2, He's a little raw, but the comparisons are D-Howard and Amare... If he ends up as good as Amare it's a home run..

Miller / Bayless
Roy / Iggy
Iggy / Batum (3 guys rotating through two positions, two elite defenders)
Brand / Favors / Camby
Camby / Oden

That is a championship team.

With the 76ers / Kings trade today i would think this has a greater chance of happening. 76ers probably want to loose brand n iggys contracts and rebuild with respectable pieces in LMA Webster n company.

Although on the 76ers / kings trade thread, its believed they want Turner. So my question would be, 1 would 76ers trade # 2 if they indeed want Turner; and 2 would blazer fans be ok with just Brand and Iggy if the 76ers wanted to keep #2 to draft Turner?

#1 - Personally I would love to get the #2 n draft Favors, a line up of Brand with Favors off the bench could be awesome. But do the 76ers think Rudy + Webster is worth the #2 pick? probably not, but who knows...

#2 - If we just got Brand n Iggy, I think it would still be a solid trade. We would still have #22 and #44 to make something happen and still possibly grab Kevin S. from France or Larry Sanders to back up Brand.

One thing no one has brought up as to why this would be a great fit for Brand and Iggy to become Blazers... Andre Miller played with these two in Philly for two plus seasons. So as far as team chemistry this very well could work. Brand and Iggy know how Miller plays and with more experience with Roy Oden Batum etc. could be a VERY exciting 2010-2011 season

My...there certainly are a lot of ass cheeks floating around here since I last checked in. :P I haven't had a chance to listen to Quick's chat and hope to catch up with that later. I've seen a lot of names thrown out ....what would qualify as a job-saving name? Of course that type of trade has to be tempered with 'what is realistic'. LeBron would be a big name but since that isn't really a realistic option, is someone less than LeBron not as big?

Does that make sense?

I've been given no indication that anything has changed since two days ago and that the timeline still seems to be the same as it was. Crossed fingers....

It doesn't look like you'll be able to listen to the Quick Chat. :( Sean Meager said in the forums that the audio file from the chat has been corrupted. Oregonlive fail.

Notice the timestamp on the original post....it was the day before anything came out locally but believe me, Quick has way more sources than I could ever dream of. What if Quick is hondaaccord? :P

I mentioned Grainger jus a few posts ago. He is the guy that fits the criteria and he is "realistic" in terms of being able to make a deal for him.

Grainger.......

Could the Blazers and the Warriors be good trading partners? I think a backcourt of Roy and Ellis would look terrific and i am sure that a backcourt of Miller and Curry would work just. GSW need bigs.

What about Andre Miller + Przybilla + 22 + 2011 1st for Monta Ellis + Brendan Wright?

That's my choice. If it doesn't involve Roy, then it has to involve Aldridge and/or Batum.

Miller, Przybilla, Batum plus pick(s)? Hmmm, that just isn't WOWable enough for Paul. I can't think trading Roy, even for Paul, would be something the organization would do right now (although I sure would!!!). Hmmmm, Paul is certainly on Lebron's level as a PG, whereas I don't think Granger is.

They are losing money and they are going nowhere anytime soon. They need to blow that up and get someone to take one of their bad contracts back. If they can do that and get some young talent and draft picks back along with an expiring going their way for flexibility.........then yeah, I think he would be on the block.
