That was the worst game 7 in NBA history. great Celtics D in the first half. Worst game of Kobe's career in the biggest moment of his career...but no one will remember...he won. 2nd half was absolutely the most crap fest shooting I have ever seen by both teams in a big game....and I am sorry but I have to say it. The foul calls were so lopsided in the second half pro LA is was absurd.
37 fta's to 17??????? And its not like Boston wasnt going inside. LA got every ticky tack call.. (3ft's for Kobe from 3 with Ray set?????? Just kick the guy and throw the ball into the crowd every play if they will call that. But Boston couldnt get JACK for ft's. Best part was...LA made 10 more ft's in this game...yet missed TWELVE ft's for the game to Boston's 2...and one of those was Ray Allen!!!!
I mean come on. I prefer...let them play. But if you arent....call it the same way for both teams. calling a game like that after the ref scandal douche....I mean...it gives the game a black eye. As much as I love this game...i walk away from a game like this and think....wow. Is there a fix? Or is it titlted? And it always seems like when I question games...its Crawford's crew. Jus saying.
Now in reverse? Boston had a 9 point lead in the first. a 6 point lead at the half. And a 13 point lead in the third...and led througout until mid 4th quarter. Bad calls and all....you make your shots...you rebound the dame ball...even the refs cant take it from you.
Mikhail said it in the other thread...although I am guessing he wont like me ripping the great Kobe...both teams deserved to lose. This was embarrassing basketball for a game 7 between the two legendary franchises of this sport.
Artest was great. Sheed impressed me for a guy I feel is DONE. KG did a great job both sides of the ball on Pau....and coming over as the help defender down low.
Alle was putrid. Pierce never put his stamp on the game. Pau was inconsistant and was bailed out with those BS calls. Kobe was PUTRID and bailed out with absurd calls. I mean other than crashing the boards Kobe was having a John Starks night. I never saw MJ have a close out game like that.
Legacy my ass. Great player. Not top 5 al time. Might be just outside 10. No shame in that. That is still a legend. But this guy is NOT ahead of the great centers, including the one he was behind on the team that won him his first three rings, Shaq. Not better than Jordan, Bird or Magic. Not Oscar. I am taking Wilt, Russell and Kareem. Kobe is ahead of TD IMO. I would be OK with anyone who wanted to fight for Hakeem. So what is that? 9th? And assuming Lebron gets a few titles...Lebron is the better player and has been for some time...but obviously wont get the recognition until he gets some rings. And that's OK. Shouldnt be that way but it is. TD will always be remembered as better than KG....but in reality? Flip prime KG for prime TD...I think the Spurs win the 4 plus a few more in the middle of their dominance...but that is just me. Lebron legacy wise has the same obstacle.
Glad the season is over. Now we can focus on the Nets season...the OFF SEASON that we have been planning for a full year. I sadi last year on draft day the second VC was dealt. Get the best player in the draft at your pick...they did IMO in Twill. And then I said...I hope they lose every single game for the year except when we play the Knicks (beat them twice) and then get a great draft. Now, I was hoping for one...that didnt work out. and I didnt think they would take my lose every single game comment and come so CLOSE to actually doing it...but here we are.
I am actually happy with whoever we get at #3. I do NOT want to trade down..to me that is stupidity with this free agent class ahead of us. I mean this is a good time again. Hopefully as of July 2nd it will be a GREAT time. Well, perhaps it will take a few days if Lebron really wants to visit all his potential suitors. But, we are finally here. Excited. Cant wait to see how it all plays out.
