like when they only gave a yellow on Altidore being taken down from behind just outside the box and being the last man forward in scoring position

that could just as easily been a red

i watch league football so im not a casual fan

that disallowed goal was terrible, not only was their no offside, a US player was taken down too which could/shouldve been a penalty

Did I once say that those calls weren't bad?

Being the football aficionado that you are, you should know that whining about refs is one of the oldest, and cheapest trick in the book to justify why you're team couldn't win. You sure it wasn't because you went down 2-0 to a team everyone in the American media was saying should be a step-over? Or all the shots you couldn't convert?

The point is to nut up and focus on your next match.

lol your biases show true colors

the point is, the US did "nut up" and made a furious comeback only to be screwed by the refs

who cares what the media says, you still have to play the games

According to the ref there was just 1 foul on the play, #19 on the US, the only one without a red circle in the picture. :nonono:

WOW! That really points it out very clearly. I count 3 men being straight up bear hugged. Ridiculous! If the US fail to make it out of the first match, this is the reason, and that is AWFUL! I hope that ref is sent off for the rest of the tournament.

Just for the record, here's how it stands now.

If the USA win vs Algeria we advance and in fact may well win our group, which may be a bad thing. But I'll explain in a min.

If we lose we are out as Algeria would have 4 points after today's draw.

If we tie Algeria and englad loses or ties we will move forward with 4 points unless they tie and score more than 2 goals more than we do vs Algeria.

So to sum up if we win we advance and win the group unless Solvenia also win. If England win and we tie they go up, shamefully, and we fight it out with Slovenia on goal differential, which we are currently +1. If England lose then Slovenia win the group and we go up with a tie.

Oh, and I believe we play Spains group next, if we advance, and they way Spain have looked they may advance but lose the group so us winning our group may net us a match with Spain as opposed to a preferred matchup with Switzerland or Hondouras perhaps.

Nah Group C and Group D match up. So the group made up of Germany, Ghana, Serbia, and Australia. Ghana has a chance to guarantee qualification with a win tomorrow vs. Australia but if they lose everyone in that group will have 3 points after two matches.

Right right right. Totally.

I'd hate to match up against Germany. We'd have a lot of trouble with that squad.

Not to mention all the Germans I work with would be insufferable
