Charles Barkley - Next Suns GM?

I think it's just a little too coincidental that Barkley has been saying that he wants to become a GM, and suddenly a position for GM opens up in his home town. He is very much a Homer (picked his Suns over the lakers when common sense dictated otherwise) and seems to love Phoenix.

Do you think Charles Barkley is about to become the next GM for the Phoenix Suns?

uhh no..... i love barkley (one of my all time fav players), he was a great sun and he's hilarious.... but i think he would run our team into the ground.... At times he just seems he doesnt know what he's talking about.

I would love to see Barkley make trades and deal with other GMs. :lol:

Honestly, i dont think he would go for it, but i'd LOVE to see KJ as our GM.

One thing you all gotta keep in mind about him is this. On Inside The NBA, theyre almost characters on there. Charles is obviously the comic relief. Most of it is a gimmick. Id love to see him as GM.

Exactly. Chuck knows what sells. He knows what the viewers want to see. He isnt dumb, he just plays that on TV.

hell no! theres alot more to being a GM than having a big mouth and an opinion. the amount of CBA and scounting knowledge, let alone tact and negotiating skills that are needed, the last thing i want to see is charles as GM

i would love him back at the suns, perhaps assistant coach, or in a PR role, but hell no to GM

Having spoken to Charles a few times, he is definitely smarter than he comes off on TV, but I think he might have a hard time dealing with other teams GM's. I like his fire, passion, and understanding of what winners are, even if he never one a championship. I think a VP of Basketball Operations ala Dave Griffin spot, might be better for him. He wouldn't always need to be on the front lines with other GM's but could help guide a franchise to success with scouting, skills mentoring. All in all, though, I am not in favor of Charles doing it, mostly because I think he is hilarious on TNT, and I wouldn't want to see that go.
