Putting the rumors into a trade

Post#1 » by [RCG] » Fri Jun 18, 2010 8:46 pm

Trade 1:

Wolves: Carmelo
Nuggets: 4 + 7 + Prince
Pistons: Jefferson

Nuggets may be looking to rebuild? Wolves would love to have a Carmelo and the Pistons get their interior scorer.

Trade 2:

Wolves: 14
Rockets: Pekovic + 23

Wolves move down in the draft while the Rockets get a top Euro prospect for insurance on Yao while swapping picks.

Trade 3:

Wolves: Ford + 10
Pacers: Sessions + Gomes + 16

Wolves get a one-year rental at back-up PG until Rubio comes over while moving up in the draft once again. Pacers get a young, cheap PG to start for them plus Gomes who can save them money if they buy him out and switch draft picks.

The 10 + 14 can either be used to move up once again or the Wolves can select along the lines of:

10: Henry (George?) - Get the next best SG prospect, can take over for Brewer eventually.
14: Whiteside (George?) - Get a defensive-minded center to develop behind MIlicic.

^ I also like Udoh if he drops.

Flynn/Ford
Brewer/Henry/Ellington
Anthony/Brewer
Love/
Milicic/Whiteside/Hollins

I don't like trades 2 and 3..#1 is solid and seems fair only if DeMarcus is at #4

What if you take out 23 from the Pekovic trade an replace the 16 with the 23 in the Sessions/Gomes trade?

Personally I think the 14 would be a great return on Pekovic, he a good offensive center but if we are indeed transitioning to a running team I don't know if he'd be a great fit, plus we need to improve on interior defense.

Ford's expiring contract opens up some options for next year but I can understand why someone wouldn't want to trade Sessions/Gomes.

I'm also thinking signing Channing Frye may be a good idea, he can the 3 pretty well and could back-up either PF or C.

Ive ended my little run at thinking Melo could come here but you never know things happen, I like trade #1 even though i'd rather trade Love instead of Big Al.

Oh gee, thanks.

I would put the 2 and 3 trades together, plus something like flynn to get some big man like amare.
A sign and trade perhaps.
