We find a way to move D Lee, Theriot and Fukudome.

You move Nady to 1st, give Colvin an everyday job and bring up Darwin Barney to backup short and platoon with Fontenot/Baker, maybe even make Baker the 4th OF.

Perhaps later in the year we can call up Jay Jackson.

I also would not be opposed to dealing Silva if he continues to pitch well or Byrd if the price is right.

Of course we should deal Silva.

And Lilly.

We have crazy starting pitching depth. Jay Jackson and Gorzelanny can take those spots.

I'd deal anyone not good and young/cheap. We're not winning this year, we might as well rebuild properly.

I dont think there is anyway in this world we can move Fukudome. I also know that this team is not going to compete for a world series in the next 2-3 years. Sell Silva, Lilly, Byrd and Theriot at the deadline. If a team and D-Lee can agree on a deal that would be great too, although if he continues to struggle no one will want him.

Derrek Lee is more likely not to be in uniform next year, might as well get something in return (Prospects) and Lilly as well. I am ready to jump ship with Aramis as well.

Get rid of everyone except Colvin, Marmol, Cashner, and Castro.

Yea, I think it's about time we start rebuilding. The Cubs should put everyone on the table besides Colvin, Marmol, Cashner, Castro, Soto, Gorzelanny, and Wells. Send any and everyone else that other teams are interested in for prospects and picks. It's about time we start rebuilding since this team clearly isn't winning anything.

I'd rather watch a poor baseball with a bunch of talented youngsters than this terrible Cubs team full of overpaid bums.

I agree wholeheartedly. Time to start over.

Problem is it will take a huge commitment from Ricketts to eat massive dollars. There is no market for Ramirez, Fuke, Soriano, Zambrano at their ridiculous salaries. Maybe in a year we can trade Sori to an AL team to DH, but we'll still need to eat most of the contract. Ramirez and Fuke have only one year left after this, so we may be able to unload at a price. But we're stuck with Z and his 18 million.

Lilly has value and will be traded. Lee will likely as well, though we won't get much with the year he's having. We've got some talent in in the minors, but nobody at 1st or third. Vitters can't hit, and that's what supposedly his talent. If we can pick up solid 1b or 3b prospect, that would be great. Problem is, with the years our guys are having, we won't be getting any blue chippers back.

I'm afraid next year will be a clean house/bridge year to shed Ramirez, Fuke and hopefully Soriano (doubtful). Give the young pitchers a chance to get experience. Give Jackson and some of the other prospects time to mature. And pray for an act of God to get us out of Z's contract.

We're now paying the price of the Trib's grand plan to buy a World Series title to enhance the sale.
