Enough Is Enough

Post#1 » by Wolves21 » Sat Jun 19, 2010 3:29 am

I am tired of how terrible the Wolves have been over the last six years. What ever the Kahn man does this draft and with trades this year the Wolve need to be a .500 team or close this season. If thing go good maybe even into the playoff this year sneaking into the 8th or 7th spot.

I don't think I could take another horrible 15 to 25 win season.Enough is enough "GIVE ME BACK MY WOLVES"

It's a nice thought, but it's easier said than done. It's takes patience and luck to build a team that has the firepower to compete against teams like the Lakers on any given night and not simply a one-and-done playoff team.

I understand that but the Wolves haven't maybe any progress in six season. They instead have regrest every season.Their takin steps back and not foward. They have some assest now in Jefferson/Love/Rubio/Flynn and the big Russian plus cap space and high draft picks.I know that running a team most be a hard job and that this is only Kahn/Rambis second season but like I said in another thread look at the Celtics in '06 to '07 to see how to turn a team around.

It's not like we've been rebuilding for six seasons. During that time McHale, was cleaning up his mess. By cleaning up his mess, I mean finding ways to get rid of bloated contracts that he created. Rebuilding really didn't start until the 2007 offseason (when KG was traded) and it certainly didn't help Rambis last year when Rubio decided to stay.

As for Boston, they have been rebuilding for years. I'm sure you can come up with other examples of teams who turned it around, but it usually takes luck and patience to become a contender. Or you could just move the team to LA to be in a bigger market. That always seems to work.

If PA hadn't been full of crap and the team had gotten Anthony without giving up Jefferson, then yes they'd have a solid chance of making the playoffs. But even if this team had gotten Wall or Turner they still wouldn't have made the playoffs next season nor been a .500 team. Remember, we're not only in the most stacked conference but also the most stacked division. All of the 4 other teams had 50 wins last year. ALL OF THEM.

I didn't really care about that rumor. I'd imagine Kahn and even McHale discussed trades involving "upper echelon talent" a lot.

As for this thread, everything is easier said than done. We can't pull a championship team out of our behinds. Kahn is doing everything to try and win, just look at the effort he put into bringing Rubio over.

for whatever its worth, this team is looking a lot like the team around when KG and Co we starting to get good. We had a handful of decent assets, a young stud PG in Starbury, a PF who could score on anyone in Googs, and an up and coming coach in Flip. So, this looks like its at least headed in the right direction, 20 wins would be a crazy, mad success next season, but I expect 30 Rubios rookie season.

Does it get any better if we're a crappy playoff team for the next few years before being mediocre again? I'll rather go through that period of mediocrity now for longer with the hope of being a championship contender one day then having success now without hope to be a contender. :dontknow:

There were times during the season where I envied teams like the Sixers and Wizards who only had a handful more wins than us. I was saying enough is enough after every game, from about game 5 onwards. But I agree there's absolutely no point rushing the rebuild. Our lottery luck hasn't helped, but this team still has a mountain of young talent. Our time will come.

I'm pretty sure this season will be alot easier to watch, then last season. More athletes, and more young players that show flashes of good games. Flynn really only had one, and Love was the same player basically. It was very frustrating to watch Al because of how rusty he was. Really the only exciting player was Brewer, which happens to be our only athletic wing. Then Darko got us all excited at the end of the year, and that didn't produce more than 2 wins..

I'm numb to losing. We could go fifty losing seasons and I would still believe, very strongly, that the next game would be a turning point in franchise history. They've had me on the hook since 1992, one more lottery season isn't driving me away.

.500?
That's a bit unrealistic. Being around 28-32 victories would already be a great success.

I feel the same way about the Wolves but what can we do about it, quit rooting for them? I for one will stay loyal to the pack and be a Timberwolves fan until I die(or until the team is disbanded because of shear suckiness).

we won't make any big trades, we'll draft Wesley Johnson, he'll be decent but not great, Cousins will probably be an instant impact player for some other team..... don't try to fight it
