According to Chinese sources...

Post#1 » by JasonDaPsycho » Sat Jun 19, 2010 8:18 am

The Hong Kong NBA.com reported that there's a slight chance that the current Celtics GM Danny Ainge will be heading to Phoenix.

I'd take it lightly though, since Chinese sources are always jokes.

If Ainge is hired, his first order of business should probably be to ban towels at USAC ;)

Danny Ainge has aged so much since his Phoenix coaching days. He looks so old now.

Always liked Ainge. Doubt it's true though.

He left our franchise to "be with his family" then ended up starting another gig a month later. I'm not sure I want him to be the GM. I doubt he'll come here anyway, considering Sarver won't pay him.

Isn't that why Kerr left, too?

I'm a Chinese living in Hong Kong  .
You see, the local NBA.com never fails to entertain me. The site is filled with people who are willing to have Yao Ming's babies, resulting in a bunch of hilarious posts. (Yes, there's a really gay forum)

For example, they called JJ Redick a perfect fit for the team, which isn't a problem.
They like the idea of having him there so they call him a superstar.
Another example lies in a post of someone wanting to see D-Wade, LBJ, Bosh and Yao Ming on the same team, and it seems like he/she believes that this will happen some time during the free agency.

On a side note, they have strong beliefs of LBJ heading to Houston. If he does that, I'll post on the Houston board twice a day for the next year.

Danny has gotten older and don't forget that he had a heart attack 2 years ago.

This is a few months ago while he was on a scouting trip.

I think some of his kids live here. I know his son went to high school in Gilbert. I'm down, he built a championship team on defense and has a good eye for young talent.

Why would Ainge want to leave the Celts? I would say the chances are very slight indeed.

Man Ainge is a great GM, he'd be able to blow it up and restructure if we lose Amar'e.

Looks like there might be something to it, from SI

With GM Steve Kerr and his lead assistant, David Griffin, announcing this week their decision to leave Phoenix, owner Robert Sarver will be looking for a new administration. People in the league expect Ainge to be at the top of his list now that the Celtics' season is done. Ainge played for the Suns and then coached them for three seasons through 1999, and he would provide the franchise with a successful link to its traditions of winning with up-tempo play. Ainge is one of the top GMs in the league, with a longstanding record of finding talent in the draft, as well as showing no fear in making big trades. He remains under contract with Boston, so if Sarver is interested, he will have to go through the Celtics' ownership group led by Wyc Grousbeck.
