Re: Thad Young for #4 Pick
Why would we trade the #4 pick for a former #12 pick that has been underwhelming?

The fact that he will be a RFA is a negative & clearly he is not worth #4 but there are no guarantees that #16 will ever be more than a role player/scrub either. Philly grabbed Rodney Carney with #16. You've seen how that worked out. #23 on the other hand is a clear crap shoot. That's the pick Philly gave to Minnesota to get rid of KK so that we'd have a chance to sign Brand. Don't see that as having any real value.
As Collins has pointed out he's best when he's playing power forward. So no, I wouldn't trade any picks for an underwhelming combo forward. If they wanted to dump say Green and Kapono and wanted only cap space back, then I'd take Thad there. But the guy doesn't give the team anything it needs or doesn't already have.

I don't think there's much upside. If he gets worse, its a bad deal. If he stays the same, then we are faced with a dilemma on what to pay him, and the same goes if he was to improve. If we're going to pay market in a year, and next year he's not making our season anyway, why give up anything for him? I'll keep the picks. Give me four long years of rookie scale on a guy that may or may not succeed.
I should have pointed out that I'm not trying to knock Thad Young in any way. Its just that, like Jeff Green, he becomes a market-priced restricted free agent after just one season, and his contributions for this particular season, at least for a team like MIN, isn't going to be very valuable.

Screw the Rocky Statue. We need Apollo Creed.
The Master of Disaster
The King of Sting
The Count of Mountefisto

I'd trade him for the 16 for sure even if we draft W Johnson; I feel like you can never have enough of those long armed 6'8 athletes.

How about Hollins for Young and the #2? Hollins has amazing potential, his upside is almost unlimited, give or take a bit. Maybe throw in the 23?

Where would Young even be rated in this years draft if he was coming out. Off the top of my head, I'd probably pick George, Babbit, Aminu over him.

That moniker was always my favorite. Especially in the context of the movie, where Rocky certainly wouldn't understand the literary reference.

For wings? I'd put those 3, plus Turner, Johnson and Henry...hell, maybe even James Anderson(at least he has a real position). The fact that he's a tweener who plays better at PF also means I'd just pick any of the 5-10 PFs in the draft before him as well.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.
