Personally, even as a Knick fan who wants LeBron to come more than anything, I'm glad he went. All the cleveland stuff aside, I respect LeBron for showing up to a rally put up by his hometown. Yes, in a way he had to attend, but he was supposed to be in manhattan today to judge a slam dunk competition...maybe he was and flew traveled to akron right after, i don't know; the point is it's good to see the hard efforts of people rewarded and that he acknowledged their appreciation. I don't think this influences his decision one way or another...he could stay and say he had no intention of leaving all along, or he could leave and say that all his accomplishments to come would be for his hometown of akron.
again, i want him to be a knick, but i'm glad he went there. I'd like him less as a person if he didn't show.
