Akron LeBron rally

Post#1 » by Invictus » Sat Jun 19, 2010 6:34 pm

a shot in the dark, but did any of you cavs fans go? LeBron made a very surprise, late appearance

A crowd of around 3,500 had already begun to leave InfCision Stadium when James entered and walked down to the playing field.

Many of the attendees rushed back inside as James was presented with a crystal trophy, which had already been placed back inside its box.

Personally, even as a Knick fan who wants LeBron to come more than anything, I'm glad he went. All the cleveland stuff aside, I respect LeBron for showing up to a rally put up by his hometown. Yes, in a way he had to attend, but he was supposed to be in manhattan today to judge a slam dunk competition...maybe he was and flew traveled to akron right after, i don't know; the point is it's good to see the hard efforts of people rewarded and that he acknowledged their appreciation. I don't think this influences his decision one way or another...he could stay and say he had no intention of leaving all along, or he could leave and say that all his accomplishments to come would be for his hometown of akron.

again, i want him to be a knick, but i'm glad he went there. I'd like him less as a person if he didn't show.

I don't see it as trolling. I think that it is worth noting that Lebron showed at the Akron rally. I view that as a sign that he might stay with the Cavs - otherwise he risks seeing clips of the rally played over and over.

I take the original post for what it is - a comment on a situation that everyone realizes is not yet finalized.

Cav's fans should not be surprised that it has many NBA fans intrigued.

That would be obvious to anyone that read it. Fact is, it was a post with no content. And was only made to try to generate an argument

This was very poorly advertised to be honest. I work in downtown Akron and wouldnt have heard a word about it if it werent for a couple of Cavs forums. Im impressed that they got so many fans there with what little advertizing was done.

Im happy LeBron showed though. Im sure he made a lot of people's day just by being there.

I don't think the OP is trolling either. I think it's another one of the worthless threads started around here, but not really trolling.

Blue and White, on the other hand, looks like he was just trying to bait guys into an argument.

I actually just talked with someone who was there, he has the t-shirt on and everything. lol. He said that there were way more than 3,500 people there because the whole lower section was full and then some.

Said they had sky divers land on the field, inflateables, fair food, face painting, and that sort of thing. He actually left before LeBron got there so couldnt get his take on that.

Just wanted to pass that along.

3500 + is actually quite a nice turnout for this type of outting.

Most posts on RealGM have no content. I don't see what kind of argument could be generated other than the one you're trying to start, i.e whether or not it's actually trolling

It's baiting.

Let's just get this thread locked already, as it's clearly just turning into guys arguing over people's comments.
