Fellas, please cool it with the bickering. Our board and posters are better than this. -- Thanks.

Man i've hardly watched any college ball at all last year and haven't even looked at this thread once.

I know NOTHING about this draft or who will be in our range.

Sorry - I actually made that decision this morning and contacted BFO (on behalf of the mods) to apologise. I shan't reply to any more posts by coolstorybro.

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miam ... 0161.story

Staff Writer Ira Winderman looks at five players who could have appeal and be available at the Miami Heat's No. 18 selection spot in Thursday's NBA Draft, as well as other potential options:

Eric Bledsoe: The Heat is intrigued by the length of the 6-foot-2 freshman point guard out of Kentucky. But it also knows it would be getting a raw prospect who played mostly off the ball in his lone collegiate season. It might be a bit of a stretch for a team that envisions being in win-now mode next season.

Image

Solomon Alabi: The Florida State sophomore center, with his 7-foot-1 build and 7-5 wingspan, would provide welcomed length in the middle. While hardly a polished scorer and somewhat of a questionable rebounder, he plays with a consistent energy and continues to grow in his knowledge of the game.

Image

Avery Bradley: The 6-foot-3 combo freshman guard from the University of Texas could provide a quality mix of scoring, athleticism and ballhandling alongside Dwyane Wade. The question is whether he still would be available at this stage of the draft. He may lack the type of range the Heat prefers alongside Wade.

Image

Paul George: The 6-foot-9 sophomore small forward from Fresno State is one of the more intriguing wing players in the draft, with a mix of athleticism and scoring ability. Consistency remains somewhat of an issue, as does his perseverance. He could be gone before the Heat selects or linger beyond No. 18.

Image

Larry Sanders: The 6-foot-11 junior from Virginia Commonwealth stands as another mid-round floater, who could go in the teens or beyond. Like so many of the big men in this draft, the Fort Piece native is not much of an offensive contributor. The attraction is the length and athleticism.

Five more possibilities at No. 18 who intrigue: James Anderson, G, Oklahoma State; Damion James. F, Texas; Daniel Orton, C, Kentucky; Hassan Whiteside, C, Marshall; Craig Brackins, F Iowa State.

Five higher-rated prospects who might unexpectedly fall to No. 18: Gordon Hayward, F, Butler; Luke Babbitt, F, Nevada; Patrick Patterson, F, Kentucky; Ekpe Udoh, F, Baylor; Xavier Henry, G, Kansas.

Out of that group, I'd take Sanders and Avery.

I'd like to get another pick in the teens to have a chance at both. Both need to add 20 lbs of muscle, but their defensive abilities are instantly transferrable to the NBA.

Avery is a great potential guy. He was ranked by some as the number one prospect coming out of high school. I'd like to see both this coming season.

if Paul George is available at 18 we MUST take him. he will be a perfect SF on our team, able to spot up on the edges and drain 3s ALL DAY but also have the ability to score in iso situations (something most of our SFs never have the ability to do)

but we wont get that lucky.....

STFU^

YOU are the one who is derailing the topic. Mods already took care of this, other guys have tried discussing the topic further, and YOU quoted crap from a page back. YOU are derailing the topic. No need for your back-seat moderation either kid. Plus you posted twice, with one post being a quote of the previous one. Bravo!

ON topic, I'd be down w/Avery Bradley. He's not going to be a true PG, in the sense of distributing the ball, but he's always on the attack. I'm more intrigued by his defensive abilities than anything though. We need somebody who can at least try to slow down guys like Rose, Rondo, etc.

Damn. In that case, hopefully somebody else falls down to us.

I too feel that Paul George is going to be taken before we can snatch him, but if he falls to us we have to take him. Fresno St. always has solid players who can't play at bigger schools due to ineligibility, etc. He'd also be a great fit on this team IMO.

So would you be interested in trading Beas, Cook, and Jones for Thabeet and 12 to snag Avery Bradley?

i would do that trade regardless of who was available at 12. but I would target Paul George at 12 if we did make that move. I would LOVE THAT.

Its going to be a busy draft day for the HEAT. They will look to unload Beasley, Cook and JJ in a trade ; You know the HEAT will trade at least one of their picks also. Its going to be an interesting draft day.

I'm with you. But, after reading a lot about our stands, Riley maybe drafting for another team and then will trade the draft pick and other pieces for the cap relief.

I understand the love for George. I really do. However, I'd be more than okay with Wright or Richardson at that spot.

I'm very unhappy with how Chalmers has progressed. He was a guy I was very high on, and he makes too many mistakes. Arroyo was much better next to Wade. I'd like to see Bradley have his chance, especially with the potential he flashes.

I'd like to have Thabeet as a defensive presences, combined with a possible Sanders pick at 18 to give us a solid squad that would be very complimentary to the top level FAs.
