Thought I'd run an idea through you guys....Assuming Cousins goes #5 to SAC

NOH out: Collison + Peja
NOH in: Cassipi + Speights + Kapono

2 prospects + over 6m in relief for Collison

SAC out: R. to Cousins + Cassipi
SAC in: Iguodala + Collison

Collison / Tyreke / Iguodala / Landry / Dalembert
Beno / Garcia / Greene / Thompson / ?

Solidify 2 positions long term, instant playoff team. Still cap room to sign a center for ~4-5m

PHI out: Iguodala + Speights + Kapono
PHI in: Peja + rights to Cousins

Get our long term center, and we should be able to extend Young and Hawes and grab a free agent, or might squeak out max room if we renounce both.

Kind of a high price to pay for Cousins, but just a thought. Seems like the other 2 teams wouldn't have complaints about it though IMO.

That's the kind of deal the Sixers need to make, so high price or not they would need to do it if offered.

C Hawes / Cousins / Smith

They might need to move Hawes or Cousins for a young PF, but it's usually easier to trade big for small than vice versa.

I think that is a good trade. Speights and Casspi have talent and almost any player can fit with Paul. I really like the idea of moving Iggy for Cousins and this trade seems pretty realistic.

Very realistic trade. I can see everyone doing...except maybe the Kings. I would like to see their opinion though. Very good trade though.

yeah kings didn't like it on the T&T board... but they also think they can get Collison for some of their crappy prospects (lol greene) so take it for what its worth. I think its a fuzz overpaying for us, but such is life.

Hey guys,

Member of Cavs press here. Have good source that says Cavs, 76ers and Sac will be involved in a 3-way deal the day before or of the draft. Major pieces are Cle sending Mo to Sac for Udrih and 5th pick, then shipping 5th pick to Philly along with Danny Green and expiring package (mainly Delonte's non-guaranteed contract and Telfair) for Iguodala. Really more like 2 separate deals, unclear to me if Philly and Sac will be tswapping any more pieces.

Foshan, Udrih is just as overpaid as Mo, have essentially same amount remaining on their contracts. And while Mo's playoff performances the last two years left room to be desired (and then some), he's a signficant upgrade over Udrih. Sac looking for veteran presence with some experience of winning as well. Lastly, pure shooter in Mo alongside Tyreke makes sense.

Okay, money doesn't quite work with a Mo / Beno, and i doubt Sac throws in a cheap asset... what about:

--Philly takes on long term money in garcia, but gets instant savings in west. Only if Cousins is at 5, imo.

SAC: Beno, Garcia, #5
sac: Williams, Parker, Powe
--Gets an upgrade in Williams, turns Garcia into expirings and some toughness underneath.

CLE: Williams, Parker, West, Green, Powe
Cle: Iggy, Beno

Still not sure Sac goes for it.

I could live with that. I'd still probably try to make a move with LWill in a Mem deal.

Good point, that's why i think Philly and Sac might swap minor pieces to make the numbers fit. I don't think Sac wants to get rid of Garcia, but have no inside info to that end.

That's what I'm thinking too. I have a feeling Collins is in love with Johnson right now. I do believe Johnson is a better fit than Iguodala with Turner and Holiday.

I like the idea, BBK. If Sac doesn't like Iggy, he could be headed to NO, and Casspi stays in SAC. Something around Iggy/Williams (backup for Paul) to NO, Stojakovic/Cardinal/#5 to Phi, Collison/#11 to Sac.

Wes Johnson is absolutely a better fit then Iguodala, it's not even close. Remember what I was talking about, about 3 ball handlers having difficulties together? Wes Johnson is more in the form of Shawn Marion, 3pt shooter, long wing span, can run the floor, terrific defender. With Johnson and Holiday together on the floor, Evan Turner's mid range shooting becomes a strength, rather then redundancy.

If you got Wes Johnson and Thaddeus Young together, your talking about alot of length and alot of size and quickness and you can pose match-up problems and that's a big part of winning, posing matchup problems.

If Thad improves on his rebounding, he can easily be a spread-four ALA Antawn Jamison. And it's not like Thad can't rebound. 5 RPG is average, he just needs to get it up to 7-8 a game. And I think Collins will give him every opportunity to do that.


The big thing is, Thaddeus Young doesn't really give up too much in the post. He has great effort there, if he bulks up and adds 10 or so pounds without losing any speed, he can definately play that 4 position like few can. Good post defense makes up for lack of size/shotblocking.

Have you seen Wes Johnson play man defense? I sure haven't...Kind of worries me a bit. A good zone can make a below average defender look quite solid, so I'm just wondering if anybody has actually seen Johnson perform up to his "terrific defender" status.

I dont know if anyone saw the "Bobcats very active on the Trade front" article but it says Charlotte is willing to "take on extra salary to get better". We all know all too well how much pull Larry Brown has in the front office, and it just so happens Larry is a big Elton Brand fan.

This Sixers are also "Looking to Make more Moves" and if Charlotte doesnt mind taking on extra $, this could be our big chance. I think the Sixers would be foolish to not be Inquiring about an Elton Brand for Tyson Chandler swap.

The Sixers could also add more incentive by offering Jason Kaponos expiring contract for one of the bobcats undesireable ones (Diop? Diaw? )
